PERBEDAAN MOTIVASI BEPRESTASI SISWA DITINJAU DARI CITA-CITA DAN STATUS EKONOMI ORANG TUA DI SMAN 5 MADIUN

Abstract

ABSTRAK

Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode komparatif Populasi penelitian ini adalah keseluruhan siswa kelas XI SMAN 5 Kota Madiun yang terdiri dari 10 kelas dengan jumlah sebanyak 300 siswa. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan rumus Slovin dengan jumlah sampel yang diperoleh sebanyak 75 orang. Penetapan anggota sampel dengan menggunakan teknik random sampling.  Data diperoleh menggunakan quesioner motivasi berprestasi, cita-cita, dan status ekonomi orang tua yang validitas dan reliabilitas sudah di uji. Teknik analisis data menggunakan Analysis of Varian (Anova) dua jalan dengan uji prasayarat berupa uji normalitas, homogenitas, dan uji independensi.

Berdasarkan hasil analisis data dapat ditarik beberapa simpulan sebagai berikut: (1) Ada perbedaan motivasi berprestasi antara siswa SMAN 5 Kota Madiun yang memiliki cita-cita tinggi, sedang, dan rendah. Nilai signifikansi variabel cita-cita terhadap motivasi berprestasi adalah sebesar 0,001 < 0,05. Dengan demikian, hipotesis diterima, (2) Tidak ada perbedaan motivasi berprestasi antara siswa SMAN 5 Kota Madiun yang memiliki orang tua dengan status ekonomi tinggi, sedang, dan rendah. Nilai signifikansi variabel status ekonomi orang tua terhadap motivasi berprestasi adalah sebesar 0,934 > 0,05. Dengan demikian, hipotesis ditolak, (3) Tidak ada interaksi antara cita-cita dan status ekonomi orang tua terhadap motivasi berprestasi siswa SMAN 5 Kota Madiun. Nilai signifikansi untuk interaksi antara cita-cita dan status ekonomi orang tua terhadap motivasi berprestasi siswa, diketahui sebesar 0,786 > 0,05. Dengan demikian, hipotesis ditolak.

ABSTRACT

This study used a quantitative approach with comparative design. The research population is the students of SMAN 5 Madiun which consists of 10 classes with a total of 300 students. 75 students were selected ramdomly using slovin formula technique. Data colected using quetioneries of  achievement motivation, aspiration and economic status of parents which their validity and reliability have been tested.  Data analysed using using two way Analysis of Varian (ANOVA) with normality, homogeneity, and independence test

Based on the results of the data analysis some conclusions can be drawn as follows: (1) There are differences in achievement motivation among students of SMAN 5 Madiun which have high, medium, and low aspiration. Significant value to the ideals of variable achievement motivation is at 0.001 <0.05. Thus, the hypothesis is accepted, (2) There is no difference in achievement motivation among students of SMAN 5 Madiun who have parents with high economic status, medium, and low. Significant value of the variable economic status of parents and achievement motivation is equal to 0.934> 0.05. Thus, the hypothesis is rejected, (3) There is no interaction between aspiration and the economic status of parents with students achievement motivation at student SMAN 5 Madiun. Significant value to the interaction between the aspration and the economic status of parents of student achievement motivation, known for 0.786> 0.05. Thus, the hypothesis is rejected.
