PENGALAMAN MENYELESAIKAN SKRIPSI: STUDI FENOMENOLOGIS PADA MAHASISWA PSIKOLOGI UNIVERSITAS NEGERI SURABAYA

Skripsi merupakan tugas akhir yang harus dikerjakan oleh mahasiswa untuk mendapatkan gelar sarjana. Akan tetapi, mahasiswa sering kali mengalami hambatan-hambatan dalam mengerjakan skripsi sehingga mahasiswa mengalami keterlambatan studi. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan analisis data fenomenologis. Jumlah partisipan dalam penelitian ini berjumlah tujuh orang partisipan yang dipilih menggunakan purposive sampling. Adapun kriteria partisipan penelitian yang diambil adalah mahasiswa Program Studi Psikologi, dengan ciri-ciri: mengambil skripsi, Fakultas Ilmu Pendidikan Program Studi Psikologi, berjenis kelamin perempuan, mahasiswa angkatan 2007 dan 2008. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan wawancara semi-terstruktur dan dianalisis menggunakan Interpretation Phenomenological Analisis (IPA). Penelitian ini berhasil menemukan empat tema besar yaitu, tema pertama pengalaman menyelesaikan skripsi yang terdiri dari pengalaman positif dan pengalaman negatif. Tema kedua yaitu hambatan-hambatan dalam menyelesaikan skripsi yang terdiri dari faktor internal dan faktor eksternal. Tema ketiga yaitu dampak psikologis terdiri dari kognisi emosi, konsep diri negatif, dan konsep diri positif. Dan tema keempat yaitu cara menyikapi hambatan menyelesaikan skripsi yang terdiri dari adaptif dan tidak adaptif.

Abstract

Undergraduate thesis is the final task which must be finished by the students to get the Bachelor degree. On the other hand, the students often get difficulties in finishing the undergraduate thesis, therefore they are late to finish their study. This research uses qualitative approach by using phenomological data analysis. The number of the participants in this research are seven people. The participants are chosen by using purposive sampling. The criteria of the research participants who are chosen is the students of Psychology Study Program with the following characteristics: they are taking the undergraduate thesis course, students of Pedagogy Faculty on Psychology Study Program, they are female, the students who commence in the academic year of 2007 and 2008. The data is collected by using semi-structured interview and the data is analyzed by using Interpretation themes. There first theme is finishing undergraduate thesis consist of positive experiencee and negative experience. The second theme is constrain in finishing problem consists of internal factors and external factors. The third theme is the psychological aspect which consists of emotional cognitive, negative self concept, and positive self concept. The fourth theme is the way to face the constrains in finishing the undergraduate thesis concists of adaptive and non adaptive.
