PENERAPAN STRATEGI BELAJAR METAKOGNITIF DALAM MENINGKATKAN KUALITAS BELAJAR SISWA PADA MATERI CAHAYA DI KELAS VIII SMP NEGERI I MOJOKERTO

Abstract

The research that had been done is about the implementation the metacognitive strategies to increase the qualities study of student at the light chapter in  class VIII  SMPN I MOJOKERT. This research aims to determine the activity of the student, the thoroughness of student learning and student responses to learning with this metacognitive strategy.this is a discriptive research with a design of research is one-shot case study design. The subjects of this research are the students who apply metacognitive strategies  in grade VIII A SMP Negeri 1 Mojokerto. instruments used in the research consisted of observations of the student activity sheets, sheets of test thoroughness learning, and pieces of students' questionnaire responses. From the result obtained if the student has conducted more than 7 metacognitive activity during this study, the percentage of studied thoroughness and average 76.9% - average percentage of positive responses to students' metacognitive strategies was 94%. Based on the analysis of data it can be concluded if the students perform activities categorized as highly active metacognitive strategies since students are doing more than 7 metacognitive activity, this is because the teachers always guided his students to perform metacognitive strategies. thoroughness of student learning has gone beyond the classical limit of completeness, ie more than 70%. 23.1% of students who did not pass is due to the many who are not fooled and meticulous in work final test, and many do not collect the first evaluation sheet. For a very positive response of students categorized as more than 80%. So that, this strategy can used by student or teacher in the other material.

Abstrak. Penelitian yang telah dilakukan adalah tentang penerapan strategi belajar metakognitif pada materi cahaya yang dilakukan di SMP Negeri 1 Mojokerto. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui aktivitas siswa, ketuntasan belajar siswa dan respon siswa terhadap pembelajaran dengan strategi metakognitif ini. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif dengan rancangan penelitian one shot case study. Subyek penelitiannya adalah siswa yang menerapkan strategi metakognitif yakni siswa kelas VIII A SMP Negeri 1 Mojokerto. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian terdiri dari lembar pengamatan aktivitas siswa, lembar tes ketuntasan belajar, dan lembar angket respons siswa. Dari hasil penelitian diperoleh jika siswa telah melaksanakan lebih dari 7 aktivitas metakognitif selama pembelajaran ini, presentase ketuntasan belajar 76,9% dan rata – rata presentase respons positif siswa terhadap strategi metakognitif ini  94%. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data maka dapat disimpulkan jika aktivitas siswa melakukan strategi metakognitif dikategorikan sangat aktif karena siswa sudah melakukan lebih dari 7 aktivitas metakognitif, hal ini dikarenakan guru selalu membimbing siswanya untuk melakukan strategi metakognitif. Ketuntasan belajar siswa telah melampaui batas ketuntasan klasikal, yakni lebih dari 70%. 23,1% siswa yang tidak lulus ini disebabkan oleh  banyak yang terkecoh dan tidak teliti dalam mengerjakan tes akhir, serta banyak yang tidak mengumpulkan evaluation sheet yang pertama. Untuk respon siswanya dikategorikan sangat positif karena lebih dari 80%. Sehingga disarankan cara ini dapat dipakai siswa ataupun guru di materi lainnya.
