PENERAPAN METODE SMALL GROUP DISCUSSION DENGAN MODEL COOPERATIVE LEARNING UNTUK MENINGKATKAN HASIL BELAJAR SISWA DI SEKOLAH DASAR

Abstract

Abstrak: Berdasarkan hasil penelitian awal, peneliti menemukan bahwa hasil belajar siswa kelas V SD Mujahidin 2 Surabaya pada mata pelajaran IPA masih rendah. Hal ini dikarenakan pembelajaran masih berpusat pada guru. Guru lebih banyak menggunakan metode ceramah sehingga siswa tidak menemukan sendiri materi pembelajaran yang hendak dicapai dalam pembelajaran. Tujuan yang ingin dicapai adalah mengetahui penerapan Metode Small Group Discussion dengan Model Cooperative Learning dalam pembelajaran IPA, meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa, dan mengetahui kendala penerapan Metode Small Group Discussion dengan Model Cooperative Learning dalam pembelajaran IPA. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah PTK (Penelitian Tindakan Kelas). Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi dan tes. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah lembar observasi aktivitas guru, lembar observasi aktivitas siswa, dan tes hasil belajar. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan yaitu deskriptif kuantitatif dengan persentase.  Subjek penelitian adalah kelas V SD Mujahidin 2 Surabaya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dengan menerapkan Metode Small Group Discussion dengan Model Cooperative Learning dapat meningkatkan aktivitas guru, aktivitas siswa, serta hasil belajar siswa pada 3 ranah yaitu kognitif, afektif, dan psikomotor. Secara klasikal hasil belajar siswa mengalami peningkatan dengan persentase nilai yang diperoleh pada siklus I persentase yang diperoleh sebesar  62,96% dan siklus II sebesar 81,48%. Sehingga, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model Metode Small Group Discussion dengan Model Cooperative Learning dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada pembelajaran IPA.

Abstract: Based on the first observation, the researcher was found that the learned results at fifth grade of Mujahidin 2 Elementary School Surabaya on science studies was low. It happen because the learning process is still by teacher centered. Teachers used extraculicular lecture method so the students disable to find the subject that was meant to achieve during the learning process. The purpose in this research were to understand  the application of Small Group Discussion method by the Cooperative Learning model on science, to increase the studying result of the students and to know the obstacles on the application of Small Group Discussion method by the Cooperative Learning model on science. The research method that used in this research is CAR (Classroom Activity Research). Accumulation data technique used observation and test. Research instruments used observation sheet of teacher, observation sheet of student’s activity, and test. Technical data analysis used descriptive qualitative and quantitative. The subject of research was fifth grade of Mujahidin 2 Elementary School Surabaya. The results of the research was shown that using Small Group Discussion Method by Cooperative Learning Model increased teacher activity, student activity, and the student learning results at three domains was cognitive, affective, and psychomotor. Classically, the student learning results was increase with the percentage in first cycle was 62,96% and in second cycle was 81,48%. So, it was concluded that the application of Small Group Discussion Method by the Cooperative Learning Model was can increase the student learning results on science studies.
