PENINGKATAN MOTIVASI BELAJAR SISWA DENGAN PENERAPAN MODEL PEMBELAJARAN KOOPERATIF TIPE TPS (THINK PAIR SHARE) DALAM PEMBELAJARAN IPS KELAS IV SEKOLAH DASAR

Abstract

Abstrak: Berdasarkan hasil observasi, menunjukkan bahwa dalam  proses pembelajaran masih berorientasi pada guru (teacher centered) yang menggunakan model pembelajaran konvensional dengan dominasi metode ceramah. Hal ini mengakibatkan kurang maksimalnya motivasi belajar yang dimiliki oleh siswa. Tujuan yang ingin dicapai adalah, mendeskripsikan motivasi belajar siswa, mendeskripsikan aktivitas guru dan siswa, serta mendeskripsikan kendala yang dihadapi siswa saat berlangsungnya pembelajaran dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TPS (Think Pair Share). Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah PTK (Penelitian Tindakan Kelas). Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, angket, dan tes. Instrument yang digunakan adalah lembar observasi aktivitas guru dan siswa, angket, dan tes. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan yaitu deskriptif kualitatif dan kuantitatif  Subjek penelitian adalah kelas IV SDN Jeruk I/469 Surabaya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa motivasi belajar siswa meningkat. Pada siklus I persentase yang diperoleh sebesar  58,25%, siklus II sebesar 74,64%, dan siklus III sebesar 87,78%. Selain itu, dari hasil penelitian juga menunjukkan adanya peningkatan aktivitas guru, aktivitas siswa, dan hasil belajar siswa.

Abstract: Based on the observation, indicated that in the learning process was still oriented by teacher (teacher centered) that dominated by speech method. This case was effect to decrease the  student’s learning motivation. The goals that will reach are to describe the student’s learning motivation during Social Studies, to describe teacher and student activity and also to describe the constraint that faced by student in learning process with applicate TPS learning model. The research method that used in this research is CAR (Classroom Activity Research). Data collection theqnique uses observation, questioner, and test. Research instruments use observation sheet of teacher and student’s activity, questioner sheet, and test. Technical data analysis used descriptive qualitative and quantitative. The subject of research was fourth grade of Jeruk I/469 Elementary School of Surabaya. The result of the research showed that there was an increasing in the student learning motivation with the percentage in first cycle was 58,25%, in second cycle was 74,64%, and in third cycle was 87,78%. In addition, the result also showed that there was an increasing of teacher activity, student activity, and the result of student learning.
