PENERAPAN STRATEGI SQ3R UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KETERAMPILAN MEMBACA PEMAHAMAN DI SEKOLAH DASAR

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya keterampilan membaca pemahaman siswa kelas V SDN Krembangan II Jombang yang ditandai dengan persentase siswa yang belum mencapai KKM sebesar 64,29%. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan pelaksanaan pembelajaran membaca pemahaman dengan penerapan strategi SQ3R, hasil belajar membaca pemahaman siswa dengan penerapan strategi SQ3R, serta kendala yang dihadapi selama proses pembelajaran membaca pemahaman dengan penerapan strategi SQ3R. Penelitian ini dirancang dengan desain penelitian tindakan kelas. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah guru dan siswa kelas V SDN Krembangan II Jombang yang berjumlah 28 orang. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah teknik observasi, tes dan catatan lapangan. Teknik analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan keterlaksanaan pembelajaran pada siklus I mencapai 92% dengan nilai ketercapaian 75,77. Pada siklus II keterlaksanaan pembelajaran mengalami peningkatan menjadi 100% dengan nilai ketercapaian 90,38. Hasil belajar siswa menunjukkan ketuntasan belajar pada siklus I sebesar 71,43% dan mengalami peningkatan pada siklus II sebesar 92,86%. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan strategi SQ3R dapat meningkatkan keterampilan membaca pemahaman siswa kelas V SDN Krembangan II Jombang.

Abstract: The background of this research was the lack of fifth grade students reading comprehension skill in State Elementary School Krembangan II Jombang which was pointed out by the number of students that have not reach the standard minimum was 64.29%. The aim of this research are to describes the implementation of student’s reading comprehension, the score of student’s reading comprehension, and also the obstacles that were faced during the process of reading comprehension learning by assemble the SQ3R strategy. This research design was classroom action research. The subjects of this research were the teacher and the fifth grade students of State Elementary School Krembangan II Jombang which contained of 28 students. The data collection technique that used was observation technique, test, and field note. The data analysis technique was done in a descriptive qualitative. The result of this research showed the learning implementation in the first cycle reached 92% with the achievement score was 75.77. The learning implementation increased to become 100% in the second cycle with the achievement score was 90.38. The students score showed the learning thoroughness in the first cycle was 71.43% and increased in the second cycle up to 92.86%. Based on those results, it concluded that by applying the SQ3R strategy increased the reading comprehension skill of fifth grade students of State Elementary School Krembangan II Jombang.
