PENGGUNAAN MEDIA GAMBAR UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KETERAMPILAN MENULIS DESKRIPSI SISWA KELAS II SEKOLAH DASAR

Abstract

Abstrak: Berdasarkan hasil observasi di kelas IIB SDN Jeruk I/469 Surabaya ditemukan permasalahan pada pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia yaitu, siswa belum mampu menulis deskripsi. Guru juga tidak menyediakan media sebagai penunjang proses belajar mengajar. Sehubungan dengan permasalahan tersebut, dilakukan penelitian dengan menggunakan media gambar untuk meningkatkan keterampilan menulis deskripsi siswa. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan pelaksanaan pembelajaran dengan memanfaatkan media gambar, hasil belajar siswa dalam pelaksanaan pembelajaran menulis deskripsi tentang binatang dengan memanfaatkan media gambar, dan kendala yang muncul serta cara mengatasinya dalam pelaksanaan pembelajaran dengan memanfaatkan media gambar. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas yang dilakukan sebanyak dua siklus dengan melalui tahapan yang sama, yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan, pengamatan, dan refleksi. Teknik pengumpulan data yang dilakukan yaitu observasi dan tes. Data yang terkumpul dianalisis menggunakan teknik analisis deskriptif kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dengan memanfaatkan media gambar dapat meningkatkan keterlaksanaan pembelajaran yaitu dari siklus I rata-rata persentase keterlaksanaan 93,75% dengan nilai ketercapaian 82,65 menjadi rata-rata persentase keterlaksanaan 100% dengan nilai ketercapaian 94,65 pada siklus II. Peningkatan hasil belajar siswa secara klasikal terlihat pada siklus I memperoleh persentase 70,40% dan pada siklus II memperoleh persentase 88,90%. Kendala yang muncul adalah siswa terlihat bosan sehingga kurang aktif dalam mengikuti proses pembelajaran. Cara mengatasinya siswa diberi kontrak belajar bagi yang aktif dalam pembelajaran akan diberi penghargaan, siswa diberi permainan halo-hai di sela-sela pembelajaran untuk menjaga konsentrasinya, dan diberi permainan tebak berhadiah berupa pertanyaan tentang ciri-ciri binatang agar siswa tidak merasa bosan. Dari hasil tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan media gambar dapat meningkatkan keterampilan menulis deskripsi siswa kelas II SDN Jeruk I/469 Surabaya.

Abstract: According the result of the observation in grade IIB Jeruk I/469 Surabaya Elementary School, it is found a problem in learning of Indonesian. That problem is the students can’t wrote description. The teachers don’t provided the media as a supporting in teaching and learning process. Because of that problem, the researcher did the research by used the images media to increase the skill in writing description students. The purpose of this research is to describe the realizing of learning in used the images media, the result of learning in writing description by used the images media, and the difficulty that happen also the solution for implementation of learning by used the images media. This research used classroom action research design that is done in two cycles. Every cycle is designed by the same stage, these are planning, application, observation and reflection.  The technique of data collection was the teacher observation and test. The data that is got are analyzed by used analyze descriptive qualitative and quantitative technique. The result of the research showed that by usied the images media can increase the realizing of learning, that is from the first cycle, the average of percentage in realizing learning is 93.75% with the score of achievement is 82.65 become the average of percentage in realizing of learning is 100% with the score of the achievement is 94.65 in the second cycle. The increasing of the result of student’s learning classically is appeared in the first cycle by getting percentage of 70.40% and in the second cycle, it is getting percentage of 88.90%. The problem that seemed is the students are bored so that they are less active in following process of learning. The solutions to solve that problem are given a reward for students who are active in the class, the students are given a game named halo-hai in the middle of teaching and learning process to keep their concentration, and they are given games for she or he who can answer the question will get present. The question for the students was about the characteristic of animal to make the students don’t get bored. According the result, it can be concluded that using images media can increase the skill of writing description students in second grade Jeruk 1/469 Surabaya Elementary School.
