PENERAPAN METODE MIND MAP UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN MENGINGAT DI SEKOLAH DASAR

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh masih rendahnya kemampuan mengingat siswa  di sekolah dasar. Siswa masih belum bisa mengingat dengan baik materi yang sifatnya berupa fakta dan konsep. Solusi untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut dengan menerapkan metode mind map. Tujuan yang hendak dicapai adalah untuk mendeskripsikan aktivitas guru, aktivitas siswa, kemampuan mengingat siswa yang ditunjukkan dari hasil belajar siswa  dalam pembelajaran Ilmu Pengetahuan Sosial dan respon siswa dengan menggunakan metode mind map. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas V SDN Kendal Sewu Tarik Sidoarjo yang terdiri dari 37 siswa. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis  menggunakan teknik analisis data deskriptif kuantitaif dan kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi untuk mengetahui aktivitas guru dan siswa, tes melalui lembar penilaian untuk mengetahui kemampuan mengingat siswa. Untuk mengetahui respon siswa melalui angket. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dengan penerapan metode mind map dapat meningkatkan keterlaksanaan dan skor ketercapaian aktivitas guru pada siklus I sebesar 91,66% dan 79,86, siklus II sebesar 100% dan 87,15, siklus III sebesar 100% dan 94,44. Ketercapaian siswa pada siklus I yaitu 66,75, siklus II sebesar 78,5, dan siklus III sebesar 88,63. Selain itu, dari hasil penelitian juga menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kemampuan mengingat siswa yang terlihat dari hasil belajar siswa dengan rata-rata nilai dan presentase ketuntasan klasikal yang diperoleh pada siklus I sebesar 74,93 dan 78,38%, siklus II sebesar 84,55 dan 94,6% kemudian untuk siklus III sebesar 89,35 dan 100%. Respon siswa juga meningkat dari siklus I 78%, siklus II 96,3 dan siklus III 100%. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa kemampuan mengingat dengan metode mind map dapat mendapatkan hasil yang lebih baik.

Abstract: This research are motivated by low ability students in elementary school to remember. Students still can not remember very well the nature of the material in the form of facts and concepts. Solutions to overcome these problems by applying the method of mind mapping. Goals to be achieved is to describe the activities of teachers, student activities, students are given the demonstrated ability of the learning outcomes of students in the Social Sciences learning and student responses using the mind map. Subjects were fifth grade students of SDN Kendal Sewu Tarik Sidoarjo consisting of 37 students. Data were analyzed using descriptive data analysis quantitative and qualitative. Data collection techniques used observation to determine the activity of teachers and students, the test through assessment sheets to determine students' ability to remember. To determine students' responses through questionnaires. The results showed that the application of mind map method can improve the feasibility and score achievement teacher activity on the first cycle of 91.66% and 79.86, the second cycle of 100% and 87.15, the third cycle of 100%, and 94.44. Achievement of students in the first cycle are 66.75, second cycle of 78.5, and the third cycle of 88.63. In addition, the results of the study also showed an increase in students' ability to remember the look of the learning outcomes of students with average grades and classical completeness percentage obtained in the first cycle of 74.93 and 78.38%, and 84.55 for the second cycle 94.6% and for the third cycle of 89.35 and 100%. Student responses also increased 78% from the first cycle, second cycle and third cycle 100 96.3%. It can concluded that the ability to remember the mind map method can get better results.
