Abstract

Abstract: Writing expository learning in fourth class of state elementary school of Jajartunggal III/452 Surabaya cannot be categorized optimum yet. Proved that about 63 % or as much as 20 students still scored below KKM set is 65 and 37 % or as much as 19 students scored above 65. Teacher did not use learning media when teaching so the learning seems monotonous. Finally, students get difficulty in creating idea and cannot finish composing as required. So that, researcher applies a solution in solving students’s skill writing expository less-ability through making use of audio video media. Type of research uses classroom action research containing two cycle. The subject of this research are teacher and fourth grader student number in thirty nine students in state elementary school of Jajartunggal III/452 Surabaya. The data research was taken from test, observation, and field notes. Data observation learning activity was analyzed in percentage and feasibility score of learning activity. Data of field notes containing some troubles are firstly analyzed, and then seek the solution. The result of implementation this learning has increased from first cycle to second cycle. The teacher’s activities in the first cycle was 64,74 % and in the second cycles is 87,50 %. Student’s scores increased from the first cycle to second cycle, the percentage of the student’s progress in the first cycle was 71,79 % and the second cycles was 97,44 %. From these result, it can be concluded that with use audio video media can be able to improve the student’s skill writing expository fourth class in state elementary school of Jajartunggal III/452 Surabaya.
