PENERAPAN GENIUS LEARNING STRATEGY UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KETERAMPILAN MENULIS PUISI BEBAS SISWA KELAS V SDN SURABAYA

Abstract

Abstrak: Menulis merupakan salah satu keterampilan berbahasa yang harus dimiliki oleh siswa yang tidak dapat diperoleh secara alamiah, melainkan melalui proses belajar mengajar. Berdasarkan hasil observasi awal, diketahui masih terdapat kendala dalam praktek pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia khususnya materi menulis puisi bebas di kelas V SDN Surabaya. Kendala tersebut antara lain 1. siswa belum mampu menulis puisi bebas dengan pilihan kata yang tepat, 2. siswa belum mampu membedakan baris dan bait, 3. siswa belum memiliki kosakata yang memadai sehingga masih sering mengulang kata-kata tertentu, dan   4. siswa belum mampu menulis puisi bebas sesuai dengan tema yang ditetapkan serta 5. siswa masih mengalami kesulitan dalam menggali ide. Fakta tersebut didukung dengan hasil belajar siswa dalam menulis puisi bebas. Sebanyak 70% dari 30 siswa belum mencapai KKM yang telah ditetapkan, yaitu 65.  Untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut, Genius Learning Strategy dipilih sebagai alternatif solusi karena Genius Learning Strategy merupakan sebuah proses yang diawali dengan menggali dan mengerti kebutuhan siswa. Metode penyampaian dalam Genius Learning Strategy mengakomodasi gaya belajar visual, auditori, dan kinestetik (VAK). Selain itu juga, memiliki langkah-langkah pembelajaran yang mendorong siswa untuk kreatif dan kritis dalam menulis puisi bebas. Salah satu lingkaran sukses pembelajaran ini adalah suasana kondusif. Lingkungan yang memiliki suasana kondusif sangat menentukan keberhasilan penguasaan bahasa.

Abstract: Writing is one of the language skills that must be possessed by a student that can not be obtained naturally, but through the process of teaching and learning. Therefore, the teaching of writing in elementary school need attention so as to meet the target optimal writing skills are expected. Based on initial observations, it is known there are still obstacles in the practice of Indonesian language learning in particular free poetry writing material in class V Elementary School of Surabaya. Such constraints include 1. students have not been able to write poetry free with the right choice of words, 2. students have not been able to distinguish lines and stanzas, 3. students do not have sufficient vocabulary that still often repeat certain words, and 4. students have not been able to write poetry freely in accordance with the defined themes and 5. students still have difficulty in exploring the idea. The fact is supported by the results of student learning in a free poetry writing. As many as 70% of the 30 students who have not yet reached the KKM set at 65. To overcome these problems, Genius Learning Strategy chosen as an alternative solution. The purpose of this study is to describe the implementation of learning, student learning outcomes are free to write poetry, and the constraints faced during learning and how to solve them.
