MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN MENGENAL KONSEP BILANGAN MELALUI METODE BERMAIN MEMANCING ANGKA PADA KELOMPOK B RA AN-NUR

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kemampuan mengenal konsep bilangan anak kelompok B di RA  An-Nur Japanan Kemlagi Mojokerto yang masih relatif  rendah. Hal ini terlihat dari 20 anak masih ada 12 anak yang kemampuan mengenal konsep bilangannya masih rendah. Anak mengalami kesulitan dalam membedakan angka yang hampir sama bentuknya misalnya antara angka 6 dan 9, dalam menulis angka masih sering terbalik,  anak belum mampu menyebutkan urutan bilangan dengan tepat, anak mengalami kesulitan dalam membilang dengan menunjuk benda-benda sampai 20. Hal ini dikarenakan materi pembelajaran mengenal konsep bilangan yang diberikan oleh guru tidak menarik, guru hanya menggunakan  jari dalam mengenalkan bilangan, bilangan hanya ditulis dipapan tulis dan lebih sering menggunakan lembar kegiatan  anak saja. Salah satu alternatif pemecahan masalahnya adalah dengan metode bermain memancing angka karena dalam pendidikan ditaman kanak-kanak proses belajar mengajar harus menggunakan kegiatan bermain sambil belajar. Selain itu metode bermain memancing angka belum pernah digunakan dalam proses kegiatan belajar mengajar di RA An-Nur. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui Kemampuan Mengenal Konsep Bilangan Melalui Metode Bermain Memancing Angka Pada Kelompok B  RA An-Nur Japanan Kemlagi Mojokerto.

Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian tindakan kelas yang dilaksanakan dalam bentuk siklus. Setiap siklusnya terdiri dari : perencanaan,  pelaksanaan, observasi dan refleksi.  Subyek penelitian ini adalah anak kelompok B RA An-Nur Japanan Kemlagi Mojokerto yang berjumlah 12 anak dari 20 anak. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi dan dokumentasi, sedangkan  metode analisis data menggunakan statistik deskriptif.

Berdasarkan hasil data penelitian pada siklus I diperoleh data kemampuan anak mengenal konsep bilangan sebesar 56.25%. Hal ini menunjukkan penelitian ini belum berhasil karena belum mencapai kriteria keberhasilan yaitu 85%, maka penelitian ini berlanjut pada siklus II. Pada siklus II diperoleh data kemampuan anak sebesar 86.97%. Berdasarkan hasil dari analisis data siklus II maka penelitian ini dinyatakan berhasil dan dapat disimpulkan bahwa metode bermain memancing angka dapat meningkatkan kemampuan mengenal konsep bilangan.

Abstract

The background of the study is the children’s relatively low ability to recognize the concept of numbers at group B, RA An-NurJapananKemlagiMojokerto. Concerning this finding, there were 12 children out of the 20 children in the group who still had low ability to recognize the concept of numbers. The children were experiencing troubles in differentiating numbers with similar shapes, such as number 6 and 9. In addition, the problems that the children had including the frequent occasions of mistaking similar numbers while writing, difficulty in mentioning the numbers in sequential order correctly, difficulty in counting numbers by tallying things up to number 20. All of those problems were caused by the unappealing learning material on the concept of numbers which was provided by the teacher, the teacher was simply used his or her fingers in introducing numbers. The numbers were merely written on the white board and the teacher only used students’ worksheets. To answer these problems, one of the solutions available is by implementing the number fishing game method and this because the teaching and learning processes at the kindergarten should incorporate educational games activities. Besides that, the number fishing game method has not been used before in the teaching and learning processes at RA An-Nur.Consequently, the aim of the study is to find out the ability to recognize the concept of numbers through the implementation of number fishing game at group B, RA An-NurJapananKemlagiMojokerto.

The current study is a classroom action research which is executed in cycles. Each cycle consists of: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection cycle. Furthermore, the subjects of the study were children of group B, RA An-NurJapananKemlagiMojokerto who were made up of 12 children out of the 20 children in the group. As for the data collection technique, the study employed observation and documentation. Meanwhile, for the data analysis technique, the current study used descriptive statistics.

According to the data gathered in cycle I, the children’s ability to recognize the concept of numbers was marked 56.25%. This shows that the study has yet to reach its aim, since it has not reached the percentage of success criteria (85%). For this result, the study was continued to cycle II. In cycle II, the data on children’s ability in percentage was marked 86.97%. Therefore, from this last result, it was decided that the study has reached its success. Also, it can be concluded that the number fishing game method is able to help enhance the ability to recognize the concept of numbers.
