In Jombang there are several Islamic boarding schools (Pondok pesantren) led by large kyai with students (santri) who come from other regions in Indonesia. Islamic students and youth Jombang previously joined as a member of Laskar Hizbullah Jombang and fought to defend Indonesian independence. Even though Laskar Hizbullah Jombang has a big role in defending independence, in reality there are still many people who do not know about the history of Laskar Hizbullah Jombang. This research takes the problem formulation : (1) What is the background to the formation of Laskar Hizbullah Jombang? (2) What is the form of Laskar Hizbullah Jombang's struggle in defending independence? (3) What is the impact of Laskar Hezbollah Jombang after defending independence? This research uses historical research methods and approaches literature study as well interview. The first stage in this method is Heuristic, the stage of collecting historical sources that are relevant to the research topic. The next stage is criticism, the testing stage of the data obtained to obtain historical facts. The next process is the association of historical facts which is called the interpretation stage. The final stage of presenting the results of historical research in written form is called the Historiography stage. The conclusion of this research is that the formation of Laskar Hizbullah Jombang was motivated by the formation of the Central Hizbullah which then held training in Cibarusah. Initiation was carried out by kyai in Jombang by holding training in Seblak, Diwek, Jombang. Until the structural management of Laskar Hizbullah Jombang was officially formed on October 20th, 1945. This application is useful for raising students' historical awareness through the monopoly game learning media. As is generally known, students tend to lack the ability to have historical awareness so they are less able to understand the causes and consequences of a historical event. Through this research, researchers revealed the influence and magnitude of the contribution of the monopoly game learning media at SMAN 1 Krian using quantitative methods through Quasi Experimental Design in the form of Non Equivalent Control Group Design with the type of pretest-posttest control design. Sampling used a purposive cluster sampling technique. The analysis technique uses the Independent Sample T-Test using a two-tailed hypothesis test (Two-Tailed) and comparing Tcount with Ttable 15.911 > 2.023 with a significance level of 0.00 < 0.05 and R square of 0.808, so the decision in this study is Ha accepted and Ho rejected so that it can be concluded that treatment using monopoly learning media has an effect on students' awareness of history learning. Keywords : Media, Monopoly, Awareness
Rendi Putra Itaqullah, Sri Mastuti Purwaningsih ##submission.copyrightStatement## https://ejournal.unesa.ac.id/index.php/avatara https://ejournal.unesa.ac.id/index.php/avatara/article/view/58454 Thu, 18 Jan 2024 00:00:00 +0000 PERKEMBANGAN INDUSTRI SARUNG TENUN DESA GAPURSUKOLILO KECAMATAN GRESIK 2000 – 2020 https://ejournal.unesa.ac.id/index.php/avatara/article/view/58455
This research aims to analyze the background, development, and the impact especially in terms of social, economic, and evironmetal aspect of the establishment of the woven sarong industry in Gapurosukolilo Village, Gresik District This research employs a historical research method consisting of four stages, namely Heuristics, Verification, Interpretation, and Historiography. In conducting the research, the author gathered primary sources through interviews with woven sarong entrepreneurs, weavers, and the head of Gapurosukolilo Village. Secondary sources were obtained from books, journals, and magazines discussing weaving and Gresik. The acquired sources were critically assessed through internal and external critique, followed by information filtering from primary and secondary sources. Lastly, the author compiled a report on the development of the woven sarong industry in Gapurosukolilo Village, Gresik District, from 2000 to 2020. Using a historical approach, primary and secondary data were collected and analyzed to depict the development of the woven sarong industry in Gapurosukolilo Village. The research findings indicate that the woven sarong industry in Gapurosukolilo Village has been established since around 1940 and was passed down to the third generation, which changed the industry's name in 2000. Additionally, the development of the woven sarong industry is influenced by internal factors such as capital, raw materials, equipment, labor, and more. External factors, such as the surrounding environment of the woven sarong industry, significantly contributed to its development. Positive impacts include increased income for weavers, improved education for the local residents, and the preservation of cultural heritage. However, there are also negative impacts, such as the dye used in woven sarong production often being disposed of in drains, especially during floods. This can lead to water pollution and have negative effects on water quality and the surrounding environment. Keywords: Development, Industry, Woven Saron
Muhammad Mubin Rahmat, Rojil Nugroho Bayu Aji, Rojil Nugroho Bayu Aji ##submission.copyrightStatement## https://ejournal.unesa.ac.id/index.php/avatara https://ejournal.unesa.ac.id/index.php/avatara/article/view/58455 Thu, 18 Jan 2024 00:00:00 +0000 IMPLEMENTASI KARAKTER DEMOKRATIS MELALUI PEMBELAJARAN SEJARAH SISWA KELAS XI MA AL-KAUTSAR TROWULAN MOJOKERTO https://ejournal.unesa.ac.id/index.php/avatara/article/view/58456
Democratic character education is one of the characters that needs to be instilled in educational institutions in accordance with a study by the Research and Development Center for the Curriculum Center of the Ministry of National Education. Schools as formal educational institutions have a very important role in forming and developing student character. Based on interviews, data was obtained that in history learning, teachers often invite discussions with students. Each group consists of several students to discuss the material discussed. Through this discussion, students are expected to be able to make and provide the best decisions. However, in these discussions sometimes there are students who argue because there are still students who have not implemented democratic characters, one of which is accepting other people's opinions. Apart from that, there are also some students who are still reluctant to voice their opinions because they are embarrassed or afraid of being wrong. Apart from that, when learning was taking place there were still students who were busy and even engrossed in themselves when the teacher gave the material, at that time the teacher also reprimanded the students who lacked discipline. Therefore, teachers must apply and develop democratic character when learning takes place. This research aims to describe the attitudes and values of students' democratic character and find out the obstacles teachers face when implementing democratic character through history subjects. This research was carried out in the odd semester 2023/2024. This research is descriptive qualitative research. The samples used were teachers and class XI students using interviews. The research results are as follows: (1). Democratic character is formed from programs that increasingly become a habit for students to carry out. (2). Teachers have linked democratic values that students can learn. The forced cultivation policy forced Javanese farmers to grow cash crops that were exported to world markets, but limited transportation infrastructure made it difficult to transport produce to ports or trade centers. Limited transport capacity, commodity delays, and the risk of rot and mold are the main obstacles to economic growth and trade in the region. In this context, this research focuses on two main questions. First, how did the process of building the railway line in Jombang Regency occur? Second, what were the socio-economic impacts caused by the construction of the railroad during the period 1895-1929? By highlighting the main routes such as Surabaya-Semboeng-Madiun, Mojokerto Kali–Mojoagung, KediriJombang, Babad-Jombang, and Krian–Ploso-Kertosono which were built by companies such as Staatsspoorwagen, Oost-Java Stoomtram Maatschappij, Kediri Stoomtram Maatschappij,Babat–Djombang Stroomtram Maatchappij, and Staatssporwegen en Tramwegen, this research aims to reveal the dynamics of this development. Historical research methodology is used as the main framework, involving several essential stages. Identification of sources (Heuristics), Verification and criticism of sources, Interpretation of sources and writing of history (Historiography) The results of the research confirm the positive impact, both economic and social, of the presence of the railway line in Jombang Regency.

Key words: Railway line, Jombang Regency, Socio-economic impact.
Muhammad Rifki, Eko Satriya Hermawan ##submission.copyrightStatement## https://ejournal.unesa.ac.id/index.php/avatara https://ejournal.unesa.ac.id/index.php/avatara/article/view/58555 Mon, 22 Jan 2024 00:00:00 +0000 GAYA HIDUP ELIT EROPA DI KAWASAN TOENDJOENGAN SURABAYA TAHUN 1870- 1942 https://ejournal.unesa.ac.id/index.php/avatara/article/view/58716
The elite lifestyle of European people is characterized by luxurious living and is closely linked to Western and modern

culture. Meanwhile, learning itself is a learning activity or a process of gaining knowledge which is usually carried out by educators or teachers to help carry out teaching and learning activities. Formal teaching and learning activities are carried out in schools by teachers, but so far the learning design and delivery methods have not been able to increase students'understanding of historical material. Understanding here means that students are able to understand and can see various aspects to explain the material received. Then, to improve understanding of historical material II, this is done by implementing synectics cooperative learning with historical photo media, where by carrying out synectics cooperative learning, students will be more active by channeling their various thoughts with group friends who may have different views and understandings from the other side. With the help of historical photos, students will understand and understand the meaning directly, as well as providing evidence and illustrations. According to researchers, the application of the synectics cooperative learning model with historical photo media has a strong relationship between variables, namely there is increased understanding during problem solving and increased activeness during the learning process. The research method used is experimental, namely pre-experimental with a quantitative approach. The population in this study were class XI IPS students at SMA Negeri 17 Surabaya, namely 108 students from the class. This research uses a sampling technique, namely Nonprobability Sampling with a Purposive Sampling model, where classes are chosen randomly according to time and suggestions from school supervisors or teachers, namely class Students are assigned as observers to help assess other students who are working on LKPD with various provisions that have been made. The tests tested were the scores from the LKPD results and also individual student observation sheets to assess the synectics cooperative learning model, as well as student questionnaire sheets. Then various assessment tests were carried out which resulted in the two variables having a strong relationship with each other in increasing understanding of history learning material. Keywords: Historical Photos, Synectics Cooperative Learning Model, Increasing Understanding Of Material
ERIKA SUMARTIN, Riyadi Riyadi ##submission.copyrightStatement## https://ejournal.unesa.ac.id/index.php/avatara https://ejournal.unesa.ac.id/index.php/avatara/article/view/58718 Wed, 31 Jan 2024 00:00:00 +0000
