Legenda Putri Jawi dan Candi Jawi di Desa Candiwates (Kajian Struktur, Fungsi, Nilai Budaya, dan Pengaruh)

Tujuan penelitian ini antara lain mendeskripsikan: 1) struktur Lévi-Strauss legenda Putri Jawi dan Candi Jawi di Desa Candiwates; 2) fungsi legenda Putri Jawi dan Candi Jawi di Desa Candiwates; 3) nilai budaya legenda Putri Jawi dan Candi Jawi di Desa Candiwates, 4) pengaruh legenda pada masyarakat Putri Jawi dan Candi Jawi di Desa Candiwates.

Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data sebagai berikut, 1) pengamatan, 2) wawancara, 3) perekaman, 4) pencatatan, 5) dokumentasi, 6) pengalihan wacana: lisan ke tulis (transkripsi), 7) penerjemahan wacana lisan. Teknik analisis dalam penelitian ini berjenis deskriptif. Teknik pengujian keabsahan meliputi, 1) triangulasi, 2) peer debriefing, serta 3) member check dan audit trial.

Hasil dari penelitian ini yaitu struktur Lévi-Strauss terdapat empat tataran yaitu 1) geografis; 2) techno-economic; 3) sosiologis; dan 4) kosmologis.

Fungsi menurut William R. Bascom mempunyai empat fungsi, yaitu a) sebagai bentuk hiburan, b) sebagai alat pengesahan pranata-pranata dan lembaga-lembaga kebudayaan, c) sebagai alat pendidikan anak-anak, dan d) sebagai alat pemaksa dan pengawas agar norma-norma masyarakat akan selalu dipatuhi anggota kolektif.

Nilai budaya dikemukakan oleh Amir mengandung nilai manusia sebagai individu, manusia sebagai makhluk sosial, dan manusia sebagai hamba Tuhan Yang Maha Esa.

Pengaruh yang dikemukakan oleh Supratno dalam disertasi. Pengaruh ini diambil langsung dari masyarakat desa yang berkaitan dengan legenda Putri Jawi dan Candi Jawi.

Abstract

Purpose in this thesis are, 1) the Lévi-Strauss structure of legends of Princess Jawi and Jawi Temple in Candiwates village, 2) the function of legends of Princess Jawi and Jawi Temple in Candiwates village, 3) the culture value of legends of Princess Jawi and Jawi Temple in Candiwates village, and 4) the influence of legends of Princess Jawi and Jawi Temple in Candiwates village.

This research used qualitative method with these data collection technique, 1) observation, 2) interview, 3) recording, 4) notation, 5) documentation, 6) discourse diversion techniques: oral to written 7) translation techniques of oral discourse. Analysis technique in this research is descriptive type. The data was collected by doing: 1) triangulation, 2) peer debriefing, 3) member check and audit trial.

The results of this research are: Lévi-Strauss structure examines four points: 1) geographically, 2) techno-economically, 3) sociologically, and 4) cosmologically.

The function that state by William R. Bascom are: a) as a form of amusement, b) it plays in validating culture, in justifying its rituals and institution to those who perform and observe them, c) it plays in education, as pedagogical device, and d) maintaning comformity to the accepted patterns of behavior, as means of applying social pressure and exercising social control.

The culture values that state by Amir contains human values as individuals, humans as social beings, and humans as servants of God Almighty.

The influence put forward by Supratno in his dissertation. This influence was taken directly from the village community relating to the legend of Princess Jawi and Jawi Temple.
