MITOS TERBENTUKNYA DESA REJOAGUNG KECAMATAN NGORO KABUPATEN JOMBANG (KAJIAN STRUKTUR, FUNGSI, DAN PENGARUH)

Desa Rejoagung Kecamatan Ngoro Kabupaten Jombang merupakan daerah yang masih mempertahankan sastra lisan secara turun temurun yaitu mitos terbentuknya desa Rejoagung. Hal ini menjadi kebiasaan atau adat dalam melestarikan kebudayaan di desa Rejoagung, salah satunya yaitu mitos yang sampai sekarang dipercaya oleh penduduk Rejoagung yaitu mitos makam mbah Sanggrok, makam bata putih, peninggalan Trunojoyo, waduk Ngepeh, dusun Payak Mundil, dan dusun Ngrembang. Desa ini dipilih karena sampai saat ini belum pernah diteliti dan sebagai dokumentasi karena suatu saat mitos bisa hilang. Mitos dalam desa ini unik, karena ada delapan dusun yang masing-masing memiliki mitos terbentuknya dusun dengan satu tokoh yang sama yaitu Trunojoyo. Orang yang percaya adanya mitos, mitos itu bisa punah sehingga perlu dilestarikan agar mitos tidak hilang.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menemukan dan mendeskripsikan tentang (1) struktur cerita mitos terbentuknya Desa Rejoagung Kecamatan Ngoro Kabupaten Jombang, (2) fungsi mitos terbentuknya Desa Rejoagung Kecamatan Ngoro Kabupaten Jombang, dan (3) pengaruh mitos terbentuknya Desa Rejoagung Kecamatan Ngoro Kabupaten Jombang.

Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif sehingga pendekatannya menghasilkan kata-kata tertentu dari penceritaan lisan yang ditranskrip. Penelitian ini diusahakan agar memberikan suatu uraian yang deskriptif mengenai kolektivitas dengan syarat bahwa data harus terjamin kebenarannya, dan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teori Levi Strauss untuk menganalisis struktur mitos terbentuknya desa Rejoagung. Teori fungsi Willam R. Bascom untuk menganalisis fungsi mitos terbentuknya desa Rejoagung, dan pengaruh dari hasil mengutip buku Haris Supratno untuk menganalisis pengaruh mitos terbentuknya desa Rejoagung.

Hasil penelitian ini diperoleh dari data-data dan analisis cerita Mitos Terbentuknya Desa Rejoagung Kecamatan Ngoro Kabupaten Jombang, dari segi teori struktur Levi Strauss terdapat empat tataran, yakni tataran geografis, tataran ekonomi, dan tataran kosmologis. Dari segi fungsi William R. Bascom terdapat empat fungsi yaitu (1) sebagai sebuah bentuk hiburan, (2) sebagai alat pengesahan pranata-pranata dan lembaga-lembaga kebudayaan, (3) sebagai alat pendidikan anak-anak, (4) sebagai alat pemaksa dan pengawas agar norma-norma masyarakat akan selalu dipatuhi anggota kolektifnya, dan dari segi pengaruh yang pertama, watak yang timbul pada masyarakat; kedua, mengenai kepercayaan hal-hal ghaib; dan ketiga, pengaruh perbuatan.

ABSTRACT

Rejoagung Village, Ngoro District, Jombang Regency is an area that still maintains oral literature from generation to generation, namely the myth of the formation of the village of Rejoagung. This is a custom preserving culture in the village of Rejoagung, one of which is the myth that until now has been trusted by the residents of Rejoagung, namely the myth of the mbah Sanggrok’s tomb, the white brick tomb, the remains of Trunojoyo, the Ngepeh reservoir, Payak Mundil hamlet, and Ngrembang hamlet. This village was chosen because until now it had never been studied and documented because one day a myth could disappear. The myth in this village is unique, because there are eight hamlets, each of village has a myth of the formation of a hamlet with the same character, Trunojoyo. People who believe in a myth, the myth can become extinct so it needs to be preserved so that the myth does not disappear.

This study aims to find and describe about (1) the structure of the mythical story of the formation of Rejoagung Village, Ngoro District, Jombang Regency, (2) the function of the myth formation of Rejoagung Village, Ngoro District, Jombang Regency, and (3) the influence of the myths of Rejoagung Village, Ngoro District, Jombang Regency.

This study uses a qualitative descriptive method so that the approach produces certain words from oral narratives transcribed. This research is endeavored to provide a descriptive description of collectivity on the condition that the data must be verified, and in this study uses Levi Strausss theory to analyze the structure of myths formed by the village of Rejoagung. The function theory of Willam R. Bascom to analyze the function of the myth of the formation of the village of Rejoagung, and the effect of the results of quoting the book Haris Supratno to analyze the influence of the myth of the formation of the village of Rejoagung.

The results of this study were obtained from the data and analysis of the story of Myth. The formation of the Rejoagung Village in Ngoro District, Jombang Regency, in terms of the Levi Strauss structure theory there are four levels, namely the geographical level, the economic level, and the cosmological level. In terms of the functions of William R. Bascom there are four functions, namely (1) as a form of entertainment, (2) as a means of ratifying institutions and cultural institutions, (3) as childrens educational tools, (4) as a means of coercion and supervisors so that the norms of society will always be obeyed by the collective members, and in terms of the first influence, the character that arises in the community; second, regarding trust in things unseen; and third, the effect of actions.
