PROSES AKTUALISASI DIRI TOKOH MADE DALAM NOVEL PUTIH BIRU KARYA ARYA LAWA MANUABA : KAJIAN PSIKOLOGI ABRAHAM MASLOW

Novel adalah bentuk prosa naratif yang menggambarkan watak tokoh, tempat, kejadian yang dapat menimbulkan konflik. Konflik tersebut dapat terjadi karena perbedaan karakteristik watak antar tokoh dalam novel. Konflik antar tokoh dapat sesuai dengan teori psikologi kepribadian yang banyak muncul dalam sastra, termasuk psikologi humanistic Abraham Maslow. Perbedaan kepribadian tokoh yang berbeda dapat menimbulkan konflik dengan tokoh lain. Tokoh Made sebagai tokoh utama dengan karakteristik watak yang baik dan pintar memiliki saingan yaitu Sujana yang selalu membenci dirinya. Kepribadian Made dalam mengatasi masalah-masalah yang terus-menerus ada tidak lepas dari berbagai macam kebutuhan yang harus untuk mencapai aktualisasi diri.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) mendeskripsikan kebutuhan fisiologis tokoh Made, (2) mendeskripsikan kebutuhan keamanan tokoh Made, (3) mendeskripsikan kebutuhan cinta dan keberadaan tokoh Made, (4) mendeskripsikan kebutuhan penghargaan tokoh Made, (5) mendeskripsikan kebutuhan aktualisasi diri, (6) mendeskripsikan tercapainya nilai-nilai B dalam aktualisasi diri tokoh Made.

Penelitian ini termasuk dalam jenis penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan psikologis tekstual. Teori psikologi Abraham Maslow menjelaskan bagaimana seseorang mencapai kesehatan psikologis yang disebut aktualisasi diri. Salah satu cara merealisasikan dirinya untuk beraktualisasi diri yakni memenuhi kebutuhan bertingkat. Kebutuhan bertingkat terdiri dari lima kebutuhan yang berawal dari kebutuhan fisiologis, keamanan, cinta dan keberadaan, penghargaan, dan aktualisasi diri. Aktualisasi diri yaitu mengembangkan sebaik mungkin semua potensi dan bakat yang dimiliki. Serta seseorang yang mengaktualisasi diri pastilah menjunjung nilai-nilai B yang ada dalam dirinya.

Tokoh Made memenuhi semua kebutuhan dalam kebutuhan bertingkat, walaupun terdapat beberapa konflik atau permasalahan dalam pemenuhannya. Selain itu tokoh Made juga menjunjung semua nilai-niai B. Berdasarkan enam tujuan penelitian dapat dibuktikan bahwa tokoh Made telah memenuhinya dan menjadi seseorang yang mengaktualisasi diri.

The novel is a form of narrative prose that portrays the character traits, places, events that can cause conflict. The conflict can occur due to differences in the characteristics of characters between characters in the novel. Conflicts between characters can be in accordance with personality psychology theories that emerge in literature, including humanistic psychology Abraham Maslow. Differences in personality of different characters can lead to conflict with other characters. Made as the main character with good character and smart character has a rival, Sujana who always hates him. Mades personality in overcoming the problems that constantly exist cannot be separated from the various needs that must be to achieve self-actualization.

This study aims to (1) describe the physiological needs of the character Made, (2) describe the security needs of the character Made, (3) describe the needs of love and the existence of the character Made, (4) describe the needs of the character of Made, (5) describe the needs of self-actualization, (6) describes the achievement of B values in the self-actualization of the character Made.

This research is included in the type of qualitative research with a textual psychological approach. Abraham Maslows psychological theory explains how a person attains psychological health called self-actualization. One way to realize itself to self-actualize is to meet multilevel needs. Multilevel needs consist of five needs that start from physiological, security, love and existence, appreciation, and self-actualization needs. Self-actualization is to develop the best possible all potentials and talents. And someone who actualizes himself must uphold the values of B that is in him.

Figure Made meets all needs in multilevel needs, although there are some conflicts or problems in their fulfillment. In addition, the character of Made also upholds all the values of B. Based on the six research objectives, it can be proven that the character of Made has fulfilled it and has become someone who actualizes himself.
