WUJUD IMPLIKATUR DALAM BUKU AJAR BIPA LEVEL MADYA TERBITAN KEMENDIKBUD: KAJIAN PLURIKULTURAL
Abstract
Abstract
Understanding implicature is key to achieving higher intercultural competence, enabling BIPA learners to not only be able to speak Indonesian but also to unsderstand what is truly meant in everyday Indonesian communication. The discussion of implicature becomes even more relevant when considering its application to BIPA learners from various cultural backgrounds. This study aims to describe the forms of implicatures and implied meanings in intermediate-level BIPA textbooks published by the Ministry of Education and Culture. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The data for this study consist of words, sentences, phrases, and discourses containing Indonesian pluricultural values. The data sources are seven intermediate-level BIPA textbooks published by the Ministry of Education and Culture. Reading and note-taking techniques were used in data collection for this study using a coding system, while descriptive analysis techniques were used to analyze the data. The results show that seven intermediate-level BIPA textbooks published by the Ministry of Education and Culture contain implicatures and implied meanings. Twenty-five data points show implicatures in the form of dialogues. The dominant form of implicature emerged in dialogue, while implicatures in the form of instructions, idioms, humor, exercises, and cultural reflections were not found. The 25 implied meanings that emerge in each implicature in the Intermediate-Level BIPA Textbook published by the Ministry of Education and Culture depend on the content of the dialogue or conversation between the speakers and their interlocutors.
