Abstract

Indonesia's cultural diversity has given rise to various religious traditions, one of which is the Piodalan Padmasari Ceremony practiced by the Hindu community in Bajulan Village. This study aims to describe the sequence, meaning, and functions of the Piodalan Padmasari Ceremony among the Hindu community in Dukuh Curik, Bajulan Village, Loceret District, Nganjuk Regency. This research employed a descriptive qualitative method with a folklore approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, documentation, and literature review, and were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman data analysis model. The results show that the Piodalan Padmasari Ceremony consists of three stages: (1) Titi Siyaga, which includes the preparation of bebantenan and the preparation of the venue and its equipment; (2) Titi Laksana, which comprises offering banten, performing Mecaru, conducting the prayer ritual, and reciting Ujub-ujub; and (3) Titi Wasana, which consists of a communal gathering. The ceremony embodies religious values, gratitude, respect for ancestors, and reflects the acculturation of Javanese culture and Hindu religious teachings. Furthermore, it functions as a means of strengthening religious values, preserving local culture, and reinforcing social solidarity within the community. Therefore, the Piodalan Padmasari Ceremony is not only a tradition with profound spiritual significance but also plays an important role in sustaining local culture within a multicultural society.
