Imagery in the Anthology of Geguritan Lathi by Eko Wahyudi (A Stylistic Study)

Abstract

This study discusses the forms of imagery found in Eko Wahyudi's Geguritan Lathi Anthology using stylistic analysis. The focus of the study is how poets use vivid imagery through various senses, such as smell, taste, hearing, sight, touch, and movement. A qualitative descriptive method was used in this study, with data collected through repeated readings, marking, and recording of quotations containing imagery elements. Patterns and trends in imagery that emerged were observed in the data using the Miles and Huberman model. The results of the study show that Lathi provides rich and layered imagery, which reinforces the atmosphere and allows readers to feel the poet's inner experience. In addition to beautifying the language, imagery helps people understand the feelings, memories, and messages that the poet wants to convey.
