PELESAPAN VERBA SETELAH POSPOSISI O DALAM BAHASA JEPANG
Abstract
Abstract
Ellipsis is the omission of an element from a word that can be found in every language, including Japanese.
That omission of an element can be in the form of subject, object, adverb, particle, and verb. The main
focus of this research is to find the lost verbs that occur after case-marking particle o by using several
reference theories about the syntactic function of case-marking particle o, namely as object patient
markers, adverb of place markers, and adverb of condition markers. This research used a descriptive
qualitative approach with eleven different anime as data resources. These are following results of the
research that has been done. There are several type of verbs that can fill the Ellipsis, including: 1) Physical
influence verb such as: kill and drink, 2) sensory verbs such as: talk and see, and emotional verbs such as:
like, 3) verbs to bring up something that has never existed before such as: make and offer, 4) move away
verbs such as: jump down, 5) motion verbs within the scope of an area such as: walk, 6) motion verbs that
passing/beyond a certain area/point of place such as: crossing and spend (time), 7) verbs with situation
complements such as: I (complements) will fight (verb). These results were obtained from the researcher
analysis based on the particle o functions, and the context of the sentence based on the events experienced
by the speaker. In the analysis process to find the right verb, the researcher found several variants of the
verb where the verb has the same meaning but different usage, causing the verb to be in several different
types. However, this can be discussed in another studies.
