Abstract
This study aims to explain the behavioral form of creative character education in the novel "Saga
no Gabai B?chan" by Yoshichi Shimada, through a pragmatic approach. The pragmatic approach
views literary works as a means to communicate certain goals to readers, such as educational,
moral, religious and other educational goals. In this research used a descriptive qualitative method.
The data of this research are sentences or utterances in the novel "Saga no Gabai B?chan" which
contain the behavior of creative characters. The results of this study are the behavioral forms of
creative character education values such as, habits that have creativity, lots of ideas, always active
to do something, interested in a problem to solved, happy to do new things, dare to face challenges,
not satisfied when always do the same thing, using learning objects or materials to make
something, always optimistic and happy to share his dreams even though sometimes it is too much.
This novel can be used as reading material in the cultivation of character education, as well as
learning in everyday life.
