This study examines the use of various Japanese languages in terms of speaker gender or Danseigo ???
?? and Joseigo ?????which are found in the 2nd season of Japanese drama Liar Game. As for
research on the variety of male and female languages, it is included in the realm of the Sociolinguistics
discipline. The purpose of this research is to find out the differences between the varieties of male and
female languages spoken by the characters in the drama Liar Game Season Two. Data collection will be
carried out using a qualitative descriptive method. The method of data collection is done by watching
films, and only data related to research will be taken. This research has produced some findings on speech
data based on the grouping of male and female language varieties used by the characters in the play. Based
on the results of research related to the variety of men's language or danseigo and women's variety or
joseigo, it was found that the variety of male language tends to be rougher than the variety of female
language. The variety of men's language is rarely found in formal situations, and is only spoken in daily
activities. Meanwhile, the variety of women's language tends to be more refined in terms of the choice of
vocabulary and speech tone, and seems more polite than the variety of men's language.
