PENGARUH KEBIASAAN MENONTON ANIME DALAM PENGUASAAN KOSAKATA (GOI) PADA SISWA KELAS XI BAHASA SMA MUHAMMADIYAH 2 SIDOARJO

Abstract
The background is that not all language class students at Muhammadiyah 2 Sidoarjo High School like Japanese
cartoons (Anime) so that students don't like Japanese in learning. Japanese is a compulsory subject for class XI at
SMA Muhammadiyah 2 Sidoarjo. According to the results of interviews with Japanese language subject teachers
and educational field practice experiences (PLK), facts were found: in the process of learning Japanese, students
only used Sakura textbooks. Lack of student interaction with Japanese outside of class hours, makes students'
interest decrease and results in one of them being low mastery of Japanese vocabulary (goi). Aims to determine
the correlation between anime viewing habits and Japanese vocabulary mastery. The method used is quantitative.
The student population numbered 48 students, consisting of class XI-9 with a total of 24 students and class XI-11
with a total of 24 students. The results of this study are validity tests, reliability tests, and normality tests, and are
declared valid and reliable while the normality test uses the Kolmogorov-Smirnov, indicating that the asymp sig
(2-tailed) value is 0.020 for the test results. With this the data is normally distributed. The source of the data used
came from students of class XI Language at SMA Muhammadiyah 2 Sidoarjo who would be given
questionnaires and tests. Based on the results of the test analysis, it shows that watching anime has an effect on
the ability to remember Japanese vocabulary (GOI), this shows that there is a significant difference between the
final scores of the tests given. Based on the results of the questionnaire, watching anime has strong criteria for
remembering and mastering Japanese vocabulary (GOI).
