Abstract

Abstract
Expressive speech act of blaming is a communicative action in which a speaker holds someone
accountable for a specific action, event, or situation. Blaming involves accusing or attributing fault to
someone for their perceived role in causing or contributing to a negative outcome. The act of blaming aims
to express disapproval, seek accountability, or seek compensation for perceived wrongs. The researcher
conducted a study on the expressive speech act of blaming due to the lack of in-depth research on
expressive speech acts and their relationship with the function of blaming. Based on these reasons, this
research formulates the problem of the forms, aspects, and expressions of emotions in the expressive
speech act of blaming in the live-action film Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso. The theories used are the speech
act form theory by Wijana and Rohmadi (2009) and the speech act aspects theory by Leech (1983). This
research is a descriptive qualitative study, with the data source derived from the live-action film Shigatsu
wa Kimi no Uso. From the results of this research, 18 data points of the expressive speech act of blaming
were found, consisting of 8 data points in the form of direct speech acts and 10 data points in the form of
indirect speech acts. Additionally, there were 4 types of emotional expressions that emerged in the
expressive speech act of blaming, namely annoyance, anger, disappointment, and surprise.
Keywords: pragmatics, illocutionary, expressive, forms of speech acts, aspects of speech acts
