Abstract
This study aims to analyse the figurative meaning of body members in idioms contained in the anime Saiki
Kusuo Sai-nan season 1. Idioms that are the focus of this study are idioms that contain head, face, eyes, nose,
and mouth. Analysis of the figurative meaning of limbs in idioms uses the technique of expanding meaning
in cognitive linguistics proposed by Sutedi (2016: 44) through stylistic studies namely metaphor, metonymy,
and synecdoke. The approach in this research uses descriptive qualitative. Data collection uses free listening
and note-taking techniques. The data that has been collected will be presented using two methods of data
presentation, namely formally and informally. The results of the study can be concluded that in 17 data there
are 10 figurative meanings, 3 of which are included in the expansion of the meaning of metaphor, 6 are
included in the expansion of the meaning of metonymy, and 1 figurative meaning is included in the expansion
of the meaning of synecdoke.
