Abstract

ABSTRACT

Learning outcomes can be influenced by student's motivation and psychological situation. The selection of appropriate learning methods needs to be done to create a communicative learning situation between students and teachers. The community language learning method is a cognitive learning method that aims to achieve the target language by building relationships between the knower and the learner. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of applying the CLL method to Japanese language learning outcomes. This research is a true experiment design. The sample in the study was the students of class X SMA Tamansiswa Mojokerto which was taken by random sampling technique. The data in this study were students' pretest and posttest learning outcomes. Based on the t-test results, it is known that after applying the CLL method, the experimental class shows a 2-tailed significance value of 0.001 smaller than 0.05, which means there is effectiveness between the application of the CLL method and student learning outcomes. The calculation of the mean difference between the experimental class (83.14) and the control class (65.14) shows that the CLL method is more effective in achieving learning outcomes. Then the percentage results of student response questionnaires obtained 74.0% of 27 students gave a positive response that learning with the CLL method was easy and fun. So it can be concluded that the research hypothesis is accepted because of the effectiveness of applying the community language learning method in Japanese language learning kyoushitsu no kotoba material.
