PENGGUNAAN KEIGO (敬語) DALAM KOMIK SALARYMAN KINTAROU KARYA MOTOMIYA HIROSHI: KAJIAN PRAGMATIK

Abstract

ABSTRACT

Language exists in various forms, such as everyday language, slang, and formal language. Japanese, for example, has an honorific language system called keigo (敬語), which is divided into three main types: sonkeigo (尊敬語), kenjougo (謙譲語), and teineigo (丁寧語). Each type is used in specific social contexts to convey respect or politeness. This research aims to describe the use of keigo in the comic Salaryman Kintarou and analyze the conversational implicatures associated with specific keigo expressions found in the comic. The data for this study were obtained from volume 1 of Salaryman Kintarou by Motomiya Hiroshi. A qualitative descriptive method was used, and data were collected through an observe-read-note technique, identifying keigo expressions in the comic's dialogues. The analysis revealed 44 instances of keigo usage, comprising 1 instance of sonkeigo, 6 instances of kenjougo, and 37 instances of teineigo. Additionally, six conversational implicatures were identified, which involved violations of conversational maxims: 2 instances of quantity maxim violations, 3 instances of relevance maxim violations, and 1 instance of manner maxim violation. These findings illustrate how keigo is used in the comic to reflect social relationships and cultural nuances. By analyzing keigo usage and its associated conversational implicatures, this study highlights the role of language in shaping interactions and conveying subtle social meanings in a Japanese cultural context.

要旨

　　言語は、日常の言葉、スラング、または正式な言葉など、さまざまな形態を持っている。同様に、日本語には敬語という敬意を示す言語体系がある。敬語は、主に3つのタイプに分かれている：尊敬語、謙譲語、丁寧語で、それぞれが特定の状況で使用される。本研究の目的は、コミック『サラリーマン金太郎』における敬語の使用について説明すること、 コミック『サラリーマン金太郎』における敬語の会話の含意について説明することである。この研究で分析したデータは、本宮ひろ志作の『サラリーマン金太郎』から取得したものである。研究方法は記述的な質的研究で、データ収集技術としては、『サラリーマン金太郎』内の会話に登場する敬語の表現を読み取り、記録する方法を用いした。分析の結果、44件のデータが見つかった。その内訳は、尊敬語（1件）、謙譲語（6件）、丁寧語（37件）であった。また、敬語に関連する会話の含意の分析では、6件の会話の含意が見つかった。これらの含意は、数量の相違点が2件、関連性の相違点が3件、方式の相違点が1件である。
