ANALISIS IDIOM BAHASA JEPANG BERUNSUR KANJI 頭 (ATAMA) DI MEDIA SOSIAL TWITTER: KAJIAN SINTAKSIS DAN SEMANTIK
Abstract
Idioms are a form of expression that reflect the culture, values, and ways of thinking of a language community. In Japanese, idioms containing the kanji 頭 (atama), meaning "head," often carry complex meanings that cannot be interpreted literally. This study aims to identify the grammatical structures and categorize the meanings of idioms containing 頭 (atama). This research employs a descriptive qualitative method with syntactic and semantic approaches. Data were collected using the observation and note-taking technique, focusing on posts from the social media platform Twitter that include the keyword 頭 (atama). The data were then analyzed and classified based on grammatical structure, namely phrases, clauses, compound sentences, and imperative sentences, as well as meaning, categorized into 14 types: feelings, emotions, body, character, attitude, action, activity, behavior, state, degree, value, society, culture, and life. The results show that the most dominant grammatical structure found in the idioms is clauses, followed by phrases, compound sentences, and imperative sentences. In terms of meaning, the most frequently occurring category relates to action, followed by character, attitude, and behavior. These findings indicate that idioms containing 頭 (atama) are highly metaphorical and context-dependent. Therefore, a comprehensive understanding of their structure and meaning is essential for learners of Japanese as a foreign language, and contributes to the broader study of idioms within Japanese linguistics.
