Abstract

The number of Muslim communities has increased in population. Between 2010 and 2016 the Muslim population in Germany increased from 3.3 million to 6.6 million. This increase has occurred since 2015, since the opening of the door to Germany for immigrants. At a time when the Muslim population in Germany is increasing, it turns out that behind it all, there are also concerns on each side. Namely the existence of Islamic political ideas in the Islamic religion. This idea is explained on the www.bpb.de site in his article entitled Was ist eigentlich unter "politischem Islam" zu verstehen? that it is enough to be a fearful thing for anti-Islamic circles who think that this idea is the same as Islamism. Added to this is the bad image of Islam that has existed since the hijacking and crash of an airplane by the Al Qaeda group into the World Trade Center (WTC) building on September 11, 2001. Since then political Islam has often been associated with dangerous terrorists and extremists. In addition, the idea of political Islam in Germany is still being discussed in various discourses packaged into various forms. Such as news, journals, radio. Seeing the role of this discourse, the researcher wants to know how discourse represents political Islam. The type of discourse text that will be analyzed, according to the discussion in the introduction to this study, the researcher wants to know how political Islam is represented.
