PERAN KEPALA SEKOLAH DALAM PENANAMAN PENDIDIKAN KARAKTER DISIPLIN DI SMA CENDEKIA SIDOARJO

Abstract

Abstrak

Kepala sekolah merupakan seseorang yang memiliki jabatan tertinggi di sekolah. Kepala sekolah memiliki wewenang dalam membina warga sekolahnya, agar tercapai tujuan. Pembinaan perlu dilakukan terutama dalam pendidikan karakter. Dalam pendidikan karakter, terdapat nilai disiplin yang harus diterapkan oleh seluruh warga sekolah: (1) Peran kepala sekolah dalam penanaman pendidikan karakter disiplin di SMA Cendekia Sidoarjo ;(2) Gambaran penanaman pendidikan karakter disiplin di SMA Cendekia Sidoarjo;(3) Usaha-usaha kepala sekolah dalam penanaman pendidikan karakter disiplin di SMA Cendekia Sidoarjo.

Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif dan rancangan penelitian studi kasus. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan wawancara, observasi, dan studi dokumentasi. Data dianalisis dengan melakukan reduksi data, penyajian data, dan verifikasi data. Pengecekan keabsahan data dilakukan dengan kredibilitas, dependabilitas, transferabilitas, dan konfirmabilitas.

Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah (1) peran kepala sekolah dalam penanaman pendidikan karakter disiplin: (a) kepala sekolah telah melakukan pembinaan kedisiplinan di sekolah dengan menerapkan sistem poin dan sanksi. Sistem sanksi dan poin ini berlaku untuk semua siswa di SMA Cendekia Sidoarjo. Sistem ini menjadi acuan perilaku siswa yang nantinya  akan disampaikan kepada wali murid untuk dapat mengembangkan karakter pada siswa; (b) kepala sekolah melibatkan guru dan waka kesiswaan dalam menanamkan pendidikan karakter disiplin di SMA Cendekia Sidoarjo baik dalam kegiatan belajar di kelas maupun di luar kelas; (c) kepala sekolah memberikan beasiswa kepada siswa yang berprestasi. Siswa yang berprestasi baik dalam bidang akademik maupun bidang non akademik akan diberikan beasiswa berupa pembayaran SPP ; (d) Kepala sekolah turut mengevaluasi jalanannya sistem poin dan sanksi disiplin di sekolah. (2) Gambaran penanaman pendidikan karakter disiplin : (a) masih banyak siswa yang membolos, merokok di sekolah, serta telat. (b) kedisiplinan menggunakan sistem poin dan sanksi. (3) Usaha-usaha kepala sekolah dalam penanaman pendidikan karakter disiplin: (a) kepala sekolah membentuk kegiatan-kegiatan yang berguna untuk melatih kedisiplinan siswa-siswa. kegiatan-kegiatan tersebut antara lain adalah program kepribadian, C-Radio, ekstrakulikuler, serta ibadah bersama di sekolah

Abstract

The headmaster is someone who has highest position in a school. The headmaster also has the authority in guiding all people in a school to get school goals. This guiding should do especially in character education. In character education, there are discipline values that have to apply by people in a school: (1) the headmastre role on implantation of discipline charcter education in Cendekia Senior High School; (2) the image of implantation discipline character in Cendekia Senior High School; (3) The effort headmaster on implantation of discipline character education in Cendekia Senior High School.

This study use qualitative approach with descriptive method and case study program. Technique colleting data used interview, observation, and documentation study. Technique analysis data used data reduction, data display and verification data. To examine the validity of the data used credibility, dependability, transferability, and conformability.

The result of this study are (1) the headmaster role on implantation of discipline character education in Cendekia Senior High School: (a) the headmaster had been applied discipline implantation in the school by using poin system and sanction. This poin system anda sanction applied by student in Cendekia Senior High School. This system became a proof of student’s behavior that will be a report for their parents to develop the character of the students; (b) the headmaster involved teacher and deputy of students on implantation of discipline character education in Cendekia Senior High School not only indoor activities but also outdoor activities; (c) the headmaster gave scholarship for those who have achievement. The student who have achievement in academic or not academic got free SPP; (d) the headmaster also evaluated the run of point system and discipline sanction inthe school. (2) the image of implantation discipline character education: (a) there were still many students who absent, smoking inthe school, and late; (b) discipline program by using point system and sanction . (3) the effort of headmaster on implantation of discipline character education: (a) the headmaster made several activities that useful student’s discipline. Those activities consist of personality program, C-Radio, extracurricular and having pray together in school.
