Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peran komunikator, peran konselor, dan peran konsultan kepala sekolah dalam meningkatkan mutu profesional guru. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus. Subjek penelitian meliputi: wakasek kurikulum, wakasek manajemen mutu, wakasek humas, kepala perpustakaan, guru, dan kepala tata usaha. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Pengecekkan keabsahan data meliputi uji kredibilitas dengan triangulasi sumber dan teknik, membercheck, uji transferabilitas, uji dependabilitas, dan uji konfirmabilitas. Hasil penelitian adalah: 1) Peran komunikator kepala sekolah dalam meningkatkan mutu profesional guru yakni mampu mengenali orang, mengelola orang dengan baik, dan mengharmonisasikan lingkungan kerja, menciptakan komitmen dari semua guru dan karyawan, dan memberdayakan bawahannya. 2) Peran konselor kepala sekolah dalam meningkatkan mutu profesional guru yakni mendorong kinerja bawahannya dengan cara workshop, seminar, pelatihan, memotivasi melanjutkan kuliah S2, pengaturan tata letak tempat duduk guru yang disesuaikan seperti MGMP, pemberian reward kepada guru dan karyawan terbaik, studi banding ke luar negeri, serta memberi tantangan kepada bawahannya.. 3) Peran konsultan kepala sekolah dalam meningkatkan mutu profesional guru yaitu kepala sekolah sebagai pembaru dengan melakukan pembaharuan dari berbagai macam lini. Kepala sekolah selalu meningkatkan kemampuannya secara terus menerus.


Abstract

The purpose of this research is to analyze communicator role, counselor, and consultant role of principals in improving teacher quality in SMA Nahdlatul Ulama 1 Gresik. This research uses qualitative approach ith case study method. The subject of this research are curriculum vice principal, quality management vice principal, public relation vice principal, head of library, a teacher, and head of administration. Technique of collecting data is using interviews, observation, and documentation. Data validity checks include credibility test with source triangulation and technique, membercheck, transferability test, dependability test, and confirmability test. The result of this study are: 1) The role of the principal communicator in improving the professional quality of the teacher is to be able to recognize people, manage people well, and harmonize the work environment, create commitment from all teachers and employees, and empower their subordinates.; 2) The role of the principal counselor in improving the professional quality of the teacher is to encourage the performance of his subordinates by means of workshops, seminars, training, motivating to continue S2 studies, adjusting the layout of teacher seats that are adjusted such as MGMP, giving rewards to the best teachers and employees, study abroad , as well as giving challenges to his subordinates. 3) The role of the principal consultant in improving the professional quality of the teacher is the principal as a reformer by making updates from various lines. The principal always improves his ability continuously.
