Abstract

The school library plays a crucial role as a learning resource that supports the achievement of educational goals.This study aims to analyze library governance in implementing special service functions at SMK Negeri 1 Kota Kediri and to propose solutions for identified problems. A qualitative descriptive method was used, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results show that the school library’s management is still conducted manually in data processing, collection organization, and book circulation. The limited number of librarians is the main challenge, and the absence of technology-based systems causes inaccuracies in record-keeping. As initial measures, the study suggests creating book labels and organizing bookshelves by category to facilitate collection identification. It also recommends implementing a digital library management system and providing staff training to improve management efficiency. It is expected that these measures will improve the quality of library services and better support the school’s learning process.
