IMPLEMENTASI KEPEMIMPINAN KEPALA SEKOLAH DALAM KEGIATAN BELAJAR MENGAJAR DI SDN PAGESANGAN 426 KOTA SURABAYA
Abstract
This study is motivated by the various challenges faced by school principals in carrying out learning activities in elementary schools. It discusses the importance of the principal’s role in designing teaching and learning programs from the planning stage through implementation and evaluation. The purpose of this study is to determine the principal’s role in teaching and learning activities, starting from curriculum preparation, methods, and implementation, along with evaluation in elementary schools. The research method used is a qualitative approach with data collection techniques in the form of interviews, observations, and documentation studies, which were analyzed descriptively. The results show that the role and implementation of the principal in teaching and learning activities at SDN Pagesangan, Surabaya City, consist of several stages. First, the planning stage includes curriculum preparation and teaching media. Second, the implementation stage includes the use of teaching media and classroom visitation. Finally, the evaluation stage includes assessing the internal and external challenges of teaching and learning activities. In conclusion, the principal’s role in teaching and learning activities is carried out in accordance with the prepared curriculum and adjusted to the guidelines established by the government and the ministry, so that the teaching and learning process runs well and improves the quality of learning in the school. This improvement in learning quality has an impact on increasing students’ understanding of the lessons they receive.
