Abstract

Vocational education plays a strategic role in producing competent graduates who are ready to enter the workforce. However, the high unemployment rate among graduates of Vocational High Schools (SMK) indicates that there is still a gap between graduates’ competencies and the needs of industry, business, and the workforce (IDUKA). This study aims to describe the management of curriculum alignment with IDUKA in improving graduate employment rates at SMK Kusuma Negara in Nganjuk Regency. The study employs a qualitative approach using a case study design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation involving the school principal, the vice principal for curriculum, the heads of vocational programs, vocational teachers, and industry partners. Data analysis utilized the Miles, Huberman, and Saldana model, which includes data condensation, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate that curriculum alignment is implemented through four management functions: planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating. The planning stage was carried out through an analysis of industry competency needs, curriculum synchronization, and the development of programs in collaboration with industry partners. Organization was achieved through a clear division of tasks among all school personnel and industry partners. Implementation was realized through the adoption of the Merdeka Curriculum, teaching factories, project-based learning, and Field Work Practice (PKL). Evaluation was conducted on a regular basis.
