Pengaruh Stres Kerja Terhadap Kinerja Karyawan Melalui Komitmen Organisai Sebagai Variabel Intervening Pada PT. Vaaria Usaha Beton Gresik

Abstract

PT. Varia Usaha Beton Gresik is a subsidiary of PT. Semen Gresik which engaged in the construction sector, especially the development of infrastructure and property. Since 1988, the company has fulfilled a lot of demands on raw matter material and read mixed concrete across East Java. The factory has expanded the business scope until Central Java, Makassar, and Bali. More than 20 project are handled by PT. Varia Usaha Beton Gresik. Stress is a part of the workers life. Stress have an impact on employee declining performance. There’s a factor that can increase the employee performance and that is employee commitment to the organization. This study aim to examine and analyze the impact of work stress on employee performance through organizational commitment.

   This study is causally using a quantitative approach. The population in this research is 40 respondents. The sampling technique that used in this research is sampling jenuh because the sample in this research consists of 40 respondents, and all the questionnaires were returned. The analysis technique used in this study is Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with the help of software SmartPLS.

   The results of this study explain that job stress has a significant negative effect on employee performance. Job stress doesn’t have influence on organizational commitment. Organizational commitment has a significant positive effect on employee performance. Organizational commitment not mediates the influence of job stress on employee performance.
