Abstract

National savings are always increasing every year, but it fluctuates in Kabupaten Pamekasan. This study aims to determine the influence of gender, age, education, income, number of dependents and the interest rate on savings behavior. This type of quantitative research with 110 respondents using nonprobability sampling techniques namely snowball sampling and purposive sampling. The object of this research is the people of Kabupaten Pamekasan. Data was obtained by interviewing and distributing questionnaires offline and online. The technique of data analysis uses multiple linear regression analysis with IBM SPSS version 18. The results of this research represent that gender had no effect because both women and men had a chance and the same ability in managing his savings. The age is influential because because someone who has an old financial management is still poor, young people have good financial management. Education is influential because a person with low education is still poor in managing finances, while someone with a high education is good enough. Income doesn’t have an effect because someone has more income, tends to use it for consumptive purposes. Someone who has a high or low dependency ratio are both saving for the cost of daily needs and in the future. Interest rates are influential because customer perception related to bank savings rates is good enough.
