Abstract

This community service program aims to provide physical recovery services through sports massage to participants of running fitness activities as far as 1.6 KM. The activity is carried out by providing a place and massage facilities, where participants can receive services according to the complaints felt after the running activity. The subject of the activity is the runner who voluntarily participates in the massage service. The method of implementation uses a direct service approach, with the administration of massage treatment for approximately 5–10 minutes per participant, focused on muscle areas that experience pain, stiffness, or fatigue. The results of the activity showed that the majority of participants experienced complaints in the muscles of the lower extremities, especially the calves and thighs. The massage services provided are able to help reduce muscle complaints and increase a sense of relaxation after physical activity. Descriptive evaluation and monitoring showed a positive response from participants, without finding significant side effects. This activity produced outputs in the form of a sports massage service model based on individual needs and increased public awareness of the importance of post-sports recovery. This program is considered applicable and has the potential to be developed in other community fitness activities.
