PENGARUH ORIENTASI ARAH SERAT TERHADAP KEKUATAN TARIK DAN KEKUATAN BENDING KOMPOSIT BERPENGUAT SERAT KARBON DENGAN MATRIK EPOXY
Composite are a combination of two or more materials that have properties that are not the same as the properties of the original material. The advantages of composites include light weight, high fatigue resistance, good strength, corrosion resistance, and can be shaped as needed. Many previous researchers have focused on developing composite technology using the volume fraction method, but the strength of the composite product can also be influenced by the orientation of the fiber direction. The application of carbon composite materials and epoxy matrices is one of them used in the manufacture of socket prosthesis. This research was carried out using an experimental method variable.direction.carbon fiber 0°,90°,45°,0°-90°-0°,90°-0°-90°, tensile test using ASTM D638 standard and test bending using ASTM D790 standard. The results of the highest tensile strength are in the orientation direction of the 0° angle fiber with anaaverage tensilesstrength of 78.25 MPa,owhile the composite which has theelowest tensilesstrength is intthe direction of the 90° angle fiber orientation with an average tensile strength of 7.39 MPa. And the results of the highest bending strength are in the direction of orientation of the fiber angle of 0° with an average bending strength of 602.08 MPa, the composite which has the lowest tensile strength value is in the direction of orientation of the fiber angle of 90° with an average bending strength of 79.22 MPa.
