PENGARUH ORIENTASI ARAH SERAT TERHADAP KEKUATAN TARIK DAN KEKUATAN BENDING KOMPOSIT BERPENGUAT SERAT E-Glass DENGAN MATRIK
Composite consists of two or more materials whose properties are different of the original material. Especially the application in the prosthesis must have light weight, high fatigue resistance, good strength and corrosion resistance. Many previous researchers have focused on developing composite technology with the volume fraction method, but in general the fiber content of the composite does not always affect the strength of the composite. The strength of the composite product can be influenced by the orientation of the fiber direction. For a more affordable price and strong mechanical properties, e-glass fiber is used. Experimental research type is used in this study. The independent variables are fiber orientation direction 0o, 90o, 45o, 0o/90o/0o and 90o/0o/90o. This study uses a vacuum method to reduce voids and uses a tensile test D638 with a bending test D790. The data collection technique used one-way ANOVA statistics to determine the significant effect. Better results are expected of the research by using the fiber orientation direction and using the vacuum method, because using this method voids can be reduced.
