SIMULASI NUMERIK PENGARUH PENAMBAHAN BULBOUS BOW BENTUK TANDUK BANTENG PADA HULL KRI FATAHILLAH 361 TERHADAP GAYA HAMBAT

Abstract

The hull of the ship is the most important part in the ship design as it affects the overall ship performance. When a shape object is subjected to fluid that flows, it will produce an obstacle style of the object. The addition of a bulbous bow to a ship's hallway is an effective way to reduce obstacles by manipulating the water waves on the boat's halve so that the barrier strength becomes smaller. The study aims to examine the influence of bulbous bow-shaped bulb corn additions on the hull on the barrier-style values on the ship using numerical simulations with Maxsurf Enterprise V8i software. The simulation was carried out with the addition of bulbous bows varied into 3 types and tested at ship speed conditions at speeds of 12 knots; 21 knot; 30 knot. From the results of the simulation can be seen that by performing a geometric variation of the bulbous bow can affect the shape of the pattern of the contour of the height and the different CD values, the longer the bulb bow is used at high speeds, the better will be the breaking of its wave so that the minimum causes coefficient of drag on the surface of the ship. Based on CD data as the speed of the ship changes and the destination of the KRI Fatahilah 361 ship, which is a patrol ship, the bulbous bow type – 3 is chosen because although at the speed 12 knots produce a higher obstacle, but the difference is not too significant. In addition, at the speed of 21 knots and 30 knots are superior in breaking waves so that friction on the surface of the ship can be reduced and the coefficient of drag of the vessel can be minimized.
