RANCANG BANGUN INNER PIPE CORRUGATED TUBE CONCAVE PERSEGI PADA PENUKAR PANAS DOUBLE PIPE
Abstract
The double pipe heat exchanger is the most widely used and also the simplest heat exchanger. The use of a corrugated tube in a double pipe heat exchanger aims to improve the heat transfer characteristics of the working fluid by flowing the fluid in a wavy pattern on the inner pipe wall of the inner pipe. This study aims to design the inner pipe corrugated tube structure on a concave double pipe heat exchanger with a variety of square concave shapes, which are expected to have optimal performance. The object of this research is the shape of a concave corrugated tube in a double pipe heat exchanger with a pitch of 50 mm corrugated tube and a depth of 1 mm corrugated tube. The type of corrugated tube used is concave. The manufacture of inner pipe corrugated tubes with a variety of concave shapes uses the hydroforming method, which involves the use of a hydraulic press machine with a flat tube placed in a suitable mold, and the hydraulic pressure functions to form waves in the tube. It has been successfully developed a corrugated tube with a square concave variation on a double pipe heat exchanger which can work well with an increase in effectiveness of 73%. So that the inner pipe concave corrugated tube can be simulated in the convection heat transfer process in the heat exchanger simulator.
