Abstract

The high need for transportation has an impact on increasing the number of vehicles and fuel consumption, as a result air pollution is increasing, so there is a need for environmentally friendly fuel made from vegetables, one of which is bioethanol made from white sticky rice. The aim of this research is to analyze the effect of using white glutinous rice bioethanol on exhaust gas levels on Yamaha NMax motorbikes in 2019. The type of research carried out was experimental. The tools and instruments used include: 2019 Yamaha Nmax motorbike, blower, rpm counter, oil temperature meter and exhaust gas analyzer, while the fuel used is pertalite (E0) and a mixture of pertalite and white glutinous rice bioethanol (E10, E20, E30, E40, E50, E60). The exhaust gas content testing parameters tested include: O2, CO, CO2, and HC. Exhaust gas content testing was carried out using the SNI 09-7118.3-2005 standard at idle speed (1500 rpm) and testing was also carried out at low to high speed (2500-8500 rpm) with speed change intervals every 1000 rpm. In this study, the mixture of fuel and bioethanol from white glutinous rice had the advantage of reducing CO2 exhaust gas levels the most by 31.25% in the E50 mixture and HC by 29.51% in the E50 mixture, while the highest increase in CO2 exhaust gas levels was 12.90%. % in the E50 mixture and the lowest O2 was 1.15% in the E10 mixture when compared to pure pertalite.
