PENGARUH VARIASI JUMLAH SUDU MANGKOK GANDA TERHADAP DAYA DAN EFISIENSI TURBIN PELTON PADA PLMTH
Abstract
The need for electrical energy derived from non-renewable energy is increasingly depleting and has not been able to meet existing needs, therefore renewable energy is one of the options. Pelton turbine is one of the renewable energy options that utilizes the potential of water level (head) and uses water discharge for its power source. In this study to determine the best number of blades in producing the greatest power and highest efficiency. The method used is an experiment by varying the number of 8 blades, 10 blades, and 12 blades. The turbine used uses a double bowl blade shape with a water flow variation of 0.001854 m3/s, 0.002005 m3/s, 0.002434 m3/s, and 0.003114 m3/s. This turbine has a nozzle size of 25.4 mm and a spray distance of 50 mm, then uses a variation of loading multiples of 5 kg until the turbine stops. The maximum power in this study is obtained at a water discharge capacity of 0.003114 m3/s with a loading of 25 kg, which is 38.0431 watts and the highest efficiency is obtained at a water discharge capacity of 0.002005 m3/s with a loading of 15 kg, which is 65.42%.
