Based on the results of observations, it was found that SMAN has a special strategy for school counselors in planning student careers. Providing career guidance services as a forum for developing skills for students in providing stimulus for students to prepare their career plans. The problem students face is the lack of information about careers so they cannot determine their career. Students' awareness of the importance of preparing for career achievements within the school needs to be facilitated by counselors in student career guidance. The aim of the research is to describe school counselors' strategies in planning student careers. This research is included in qualitative descriptive research which emphasizes the research subject as the main source in searching for effective data from various points of view, both teachers, students and related parties in the school environment. Data collection techniques use interview techniques, documentation studies and observations. Results This research describes the success of counselors in mapping students' career planning into 3 pathways, namely: (1) Students who want to go to further study/college level, (2) Students who want to work, and (3) Students who want to register with the official, TNI, and Polri . The implication of the results of this research is to become material for future evaluation and monitoring in order to create effective planning services at SMAN and with the mission of encouraging students to succeed in achieving their career dreams.
