Abstract

Academic self-efficacy is the belief that individuals have in their ability to carry out academic demands such as assignments or exams with different levels of difficulty. Academic self-efficacy has an important role in various aspects of learner achievement and in controlling motivation to achieve academic targets. This study is intended to determine the implementation of Problem-based Learning group guidance on the academic self-efficacy of high school students. The research method used is a quantitative method with a pre-experimental one group pre-test post-test research design, and data analysis in this study using non-parametric statistics, namely the Wilcoxon Test. Data collection used is a questionnaire instrument to measure the academic self-efficacy of students in class X-12 SMA Negeri 1 Manyar. The subjects in this study amounted to 8 students in class X-12 who had moderate and low academic self-efficacy. In this study, there were changes in students from the average increase obtained before and after treatment of 17 points. Based on the results of the Wilcoxon Test interpretation with SPSS Statistics 26, the Asymp. Sig (2-tailed) value of 0.012. This value is smaller than 0.05 so it can be concluded that Ha is accepted, which means that Problem Based Learning group guidance can increase the academic self-efficacy of high school students. The results of the study are expected to be a reference for various parties so that group guidance services can be further developed.
