Abstract

Adolescents are in a transition phase from childhood to adulthood which is marked by various developmental tasks, one of which is readiness and maturity in planning a career. Based on the results of the student needs assessment (AKPD) and interviews with Guidance and Counseling teachers at SMAN 9 Surabaya, it was found that grade XI students have high needs in the career field. The results of the student needs assessment (AKPD) data distributed to ten classes at the grade XI level showed that students still experience confusion and doubt in determining their career direction, through a closed questionnaire revealed that the needs of the ten classes distributed questionnaires experienced the same needs, namely in the career field with an acquisition of 44.28%, then in the personal field 32.24%, social field 14.48%, learning field 7.97%. This study aims to produce a product in the form of career path game media as a career maturity information service for grade XI students of SMAN 9 Surabaya. By using the simplified Borg & Gall development research model by the Puslitjaknov Team, (2008) from the initial stage to product revision. Based on the validation test by material experts, the percentage obtained was 95.19% or very good category, the validation test by media experts obtained a percentage of 96.15% or very good category, the validation test by practitioner experts or guidance and counseling teachers obtained a percentage of 93.27% or very good category and the product trial to students obtained a percentage of 93.75% or very good category. Thus, it can be concluded that the career path game media as a career maturity information service for class XI students of SMAN 9 Surabaya has met the acceptability criteria.
