PENGARUH DUKUNGAN SOSIAL TEMAN SEBAYA DAN MINAT BELAJAR TERHADAP PERENCANAAN KARIER PESERTA DIDIK SMA NEGERI 9 SURABAYA
Abstract
Career planning is an important aspect that senior high school students need to develop as a foundation for determining further educational pathways and future careers. However, in reality, many students still experience difficulties in planning their careers. This condition is influenced by various factors, including environmental factors and personal factors. This study aims to examine the influence of peer social support and learning interest on the career planning of Grade XI students at SMA Negeri 9 Surabaya. This study employed a quantitative approach using an ex post facto research design. The population of this study consisted of all Grade XI students at SMA Negeri 9 Surabaya, with a total sample of 198 students. Data were collected using Likert-scale questionnaires developed based on indicators of peer social support, learning interest, and career planning. Data analysis was conducted using nonparametric statistical tests in accordance with the characteristics of the research data. The results of the study indicate that peer social support has an influence on students’ career planning, learning interest has an influence on students’ career planning, and peer social support and learning interest simultaneously influence students’ career planning. These findings indicate that students’ career planning is influenced by the interaction between environmental factors and personal factors. It can be concluded that peer social support and learning interest play an important role in helping students develop more directed and well-planned career decisions.
