Abstract
Smoking is the activity of inhaling and burning tobacco, which contains harmful substances such as nicotine, carbon monoxide, and tar. Cigarettes contain addictive substances that can lead to addiction. Addiction is a condition where an individual is unable to control themselves from the negative impacts caused by their habit. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of individual counseling services using Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) therapy to reduce smoking addiction in students of SMA Negeri 11 Surabaya. This study used a Pre-Experiment with a one-group pretest-posttest design, with parametric analysis, Paired Sample T-Test. The research subjects were 5 11th grade students with high levels of smoking addiction. Based on the results of the T-test, the Sig. Therefore, it can be concluded that in this study, Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected, meaning EFT therapy is effective in reducing smoking addiction in students of SMA Negeri 11 Surabaya.
