IMPLEMENTASI MODEL PEMBELAJARAN THINK PAIR SHARE (TPS) DENGAN HANDOUT PADA KOMPETENSI DASAR MENERAPKAN TEORI KESEIMBANGAN DI SMKN 1 KEMLAGI MOJOKERTO

Abstract

Penelitian yang dilaksanakan di SMKN 1 Kemlagi Mojokerto ini didasari atas rendahnya hasil belajar siswa kelas X pada kompetensi dasar menerapkan teori keseimbangan. Ketuntasan kelas hanya 45% atau 14 siswa dari 31 siswa yang mencapai kriteria ketuntasan minimal (KKM) sebesar 75, artinya ada 17 siswa yang belum tuntas atau sebesar 55%. Hal tersebut disebabkan oleh model pembelajaran yang digunakan guru selalu menggunakan model pembelajaran konvensional dengan pembelajaran satu arah, sehingga aktivitas kegiatan belajar mengajar (KBM) berpusat pada guru (teacher centered). Untuk itu, dalam menyikapi masalah tersebut perlu dilakukan penelitian dengan model pembelajaran think pair share (TPS) dengan handout yang diharapkan dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah (1) Mengetahui kegiatan mengajar guru dengan menerapkan model pembelajaran think pair share dengan handout (2) Mengetahui kegiatan belajar siswa pada saat mengimplementasikan model pembelajaran think pair share dengan handout (3) mengetahui peningkatan hasil belajar siswa dengan mengimplementasikan model pembelajaran think pair share dengan handout.

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) yang dilaksanakan di SMKN 1 Kemlagi Mojokerto pada semester genap tahun ajaran 2016/2017. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X TGB 1 yang berjumlah 31 siswa. Data dalam penelitian diperoleh melalui tes hasil belajar siswa dan pengamatan keterlaksanaan model pembelajaran think pair share. sumber data dalam penelitian diperoleh dari teman sejawat, prosedur penelitian berbentuk siklus meliputi beberapa tahapan yaitu tahap perencanaan, tahap pelaksanaan, tahap pengamatan dan refleksi. Teknik pengunpulan data menggunakan metode tes dan metode pengamatan, teknik analisis data yang digunakan yaitu analisis validasi perangkat pembelajaran, analisis keterlaksanaan model pembelajaran think pair share, analisis hasil belajar siswa dan analisis ketuntasan belajar klasikal.

Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah sebagai berikut, (a) hasil validasi silabus mencapai 81% dengan kriteria sangat valid, hasil validasi RPP mencapai 80% dengan kriteria valid, hasil validasi materi mencapai 80% dengan kriteria valid dan hasil validasi soal mencapai 80% dengan kriteria valid, (b) keterlaksanaan kegiatan guru pada siklus I hanya mencapai skor rata-rata dari pengamat 3,09 dengan kriteria baik, kemudian pada pelaksanaan siklus II terjadi peningkatan menjadi 4,3 atau  dengan kriteria sangat baik dalam skala 1-5 (c) keterlaksanaan kegiatan belajar siswa yang pada siklus I hanya mencapai skor rata-rata 2,8 dengan kriteria cukup kemudian mengalami peningkatan setelah dilakukan refleksi pada siklus II menjadi 4,2 dengan kriteria baik sekali dalam skala 1-5 (d) setelah mengimplementasikan model pembelajaran think pair share dengan handout hasil belajar siswa pada siklus I hanya mencapai ketuntasan kelas sebesar 48,4% atau hanya 15 dari 31 siswa yang tuntas sesuai Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimal (KKM) dengan nilai 72, kemudian pada siklus II ketuntasan kelas mengalami peningkatan menjadi 80,6% atau menjadi 25 dari 31 siswa yang tuntas sesuai KKM. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa implementasi model pembelajaran think pair share dengan handout dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa.

Abstract

The research which had been conducted  in SMKN 1 Kemlagi Mojokerto was based on the low learing achievement of grade X on basic competence of applying balance theory. The class achievement was only 45% or 14 of 31 students who reached the passing grade was 75, it means that there were 17  students who had not passed the passing grade or 55%.  This case was because the teacher always uses the convensional teaching method with one way learning, moreover the teaching learning process (TLP) was teacher centered. Therefore, to solve the problem, the writer needed to conduct the research by implementing Think Pair Share (TPS) teaching model with handout which was expexted to be able to improve the students learning achievement. The aims of this research were (1) Knowing teacher’s activities  by implementing Think Pair Share teaching model with handout (2) Knowing students’ learning activities while being implemented with Think Pair Share teaching model with handout (3) Knowing the improvement of students’ learning achievement by implementing Think Pair Share teaching model with handout.

This research was classroom action research (CAR) which was conducted in SMKN 1 Kemlagi Mojokerto on sementer 2 academic year 2016/2017. The subject of the research was grade X TGB 1 students and the number of the students was 31 students. The data of the research was obtained through the test of students’ learning result and observation of Think Pair Share implementation. The data resources of the research was obtained from the colaborator. The research procedures was in the form of cycles covering planing, acting, observing, and reflecting stage.  The data collecting technique was used test and observation method. The data analysis technique was used the validity of learning set,  the analysis of Think Pair Share implementation, , the analysis of students’ learning result and the analysis of the passing of classical learning.

The result of the research was as follow, (a) the result of sylabus validity was 81% with very valid criterion,  the result of lesson plans validity was 80% with valid criterion, the result of material validity was 80% with valid criterion, and the result of test validity was 80% with valid criterion, (b) the implementation of teacher’s activities in cycle I only reached the average score from the observer 3,09 with good criterion, then there was improvement of implementation teacher’s activities in cycle II became 4,3  with very good criterion o a scale 1-5 (c) the implementation of students’ learning activities that reached the average score of 2,8 with enough criterion in cycle I  was increased afterdoing reflection in cycle II became 4,2 with very good criterion in a scale of 1-5 (d) after implementing Think Pair Share with handout, the students’ learning achievement in cycle I only obtained the class achievement  of 48,4% or there were only 15 students from 31 students that reached the Passing Grade with score of 72, then there was improvement of class achievement in cycle II became 80,6% or the number of students who reached the Passing Grade  became 25 students of 31 students. Furthermore, it can be concluded that the implementation of Think Pair Share teaching model with handout can improve the students’ learning achievement.
