Materi spesifikasi dan karakteristik baja merupakan materi mata pelajaran dasar-dasar kontruksi bangunan yang berhubungan dengan bahan bangunan pada spektrum kurikulum 2013 yang telah disesuaikan. Materi tersebut membutuhkan pemahaman yang baik dan proses pembelajaran yang menarik sehingga siswa dapat belajar dan mendapat nilai maksimal. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui (1) keterlaksanaan pembelajaran; (2) respon siswa; (3) hasil penerapan antara kelas yang diberi dan tidak diberi model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe snowball throwing dengan menggunakan LKS pada materi spesifikasi dan karakteristik baja.

Jenis penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian eksperimen dengan rancangan posttest only control group design. Sampel penelitian adalah siswa kelas X KGSP1 dan X KGSP4 SMK Negeri 5 Surabaya semester gasal tahun ajaran 2018/2019 yang masing-masing kelas berjumlah 36 siswa. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah lembar validasi perangkat pembelajaran, lembar pengamatan keterlaksanaan pembelajaran, angket respon siswa, dan soal tes. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis kelayakan perangkat pembelajaran, analisis keterlaksanaan pembelajaran, analisis respon siswa, dan uji beda dengan uji-t dua pihak.

Hasil penelitian ini adalah (1) rata-rata hasil keterlaksanaan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe snowball throwing menggunakan LKS pada pertemuan I sebesar 86,8% dengan kategori sangat baik, pada pertemuan II sebesar 90,8% dengan kategori sangat baik; (2) rata-rata hasil respon siswa terhadap model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe snowball throwing menggunakan LKS sebesar 83.49 % dengan kategori sangat baik; (3) nilai rata–rata kelas model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe snowball throwing dengan LKS adalah 85,28. Sedangkan, kelas metode pembelajaran langsung dengan LKS adalah 80,28. Hasil uji t menunjukkan, nilai thitung = 2,59. Nilai ttabel dengan signifikasi( ) = 2,5% adalah 2,319. Hasil thitung lebih besar dari ttabel. Artinya, ada perbedaan rata-rata hasil belajar yang signifikan antara siswa yang menerapkan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe snowball throwing dengan metode pembelajaran langsung pada materi spesifikasi dan karakteristik baja.

IMPLEMENTATION OF SNOWBALL THROWING COOPERATIVE LEARNING MODEL BY USING LKS ON SPECIFICATION MATERIALS AND STEEL CHARACTERISTICS

Material specifications and steel characteristics are subject matter of the basics of building construction related to building materials in the 2013 curriculum spectrum that have been adjusted. The material requires good understanding and interesting learning processes so students can learn and get maximum grades. The purpose of this study was to determine (1) the implementation of learning; (2) student responses; (3) the results of the application between classes given and not given the snowball throwing cooperative learning model by using LKS on material specifications and steel characteristics. This type of research uses an experimental research method with a posttest only control group design. The research sample was students of class X KGSP1 and X KGSP4 of SMK Negeri 5 Surabaya in odd semester 2018/2019 academic year, each of which consisted of 36 students. The research instruments used were learning device validation sheets, learning implementation observation sheets, student response questionnaires, and test questions. The data analysis technique used is the feasibility analysis of learning devices, analysis of learning feasibility, analysis of student responses, and different tests with two-party t-test. The results of this study are (1) the average results of the implementation of the snowball throwing type cooperative learning model using LKS at the first meeting of 86.8% with a very good category, at the second meeting 90.8% with a very good category; (2) the average student response to the snowball throwing type cooperative learning model uses LKS of 83.49% with a very good category; (3) the average grade of the cooperative learning type snowball throwing model with LKS is 85.28. Meanwhile, the class of direct learning methods with LKS is 80.28. The results of the t test show, the value of tcount = 2.59. The value of t table with significance (α) = 2.5% is 2,319. The result of tcount is greater than t table. That is, there is a significant difference in the average learning outcomes between students who apply the snowball throwing type cooperative learning model with direct learning methods on material specifications and steel characteristics.Keywords : Snowball Throwing, LKS, Implementation of Learning, Student Response.
