Abstract

The components of physical conditions in pencak silat include aspects of endurance, strength, speed, explosive power, agility, and flexibility. Every aspect of the physical condition that is trained is able to help a pencak silat athlete display good attack and defense technique skills. The purpose of this study was to obtain a training model for improving physical conditions in the sport of pencak silat through a review process from the results of previous studies. This research uses qualitative research with literature review analysis method. A total of 5 international journals, 21 national journals, and 1 book have been reviewed based on reference sources, types of samples, intervention models, methods, and findings. The results of the review show that pencak silat is a sport with predominant anaerobic energy, so the components of the dominant physical condition are anaerobic endurance, explosive power, strength, agility, speed, and flexibility. The exercise model for physical condition components is carried out through the interval method by comparing exercise and rest in the duration of time. Training models that can be done can be combined with technical skills such as kicks, punches, and throws.
